Hey everyone, I'm moving out and into a shared dorm room in several weeks. My room now is so dull, so I'm looking for some decorating inspiration. Any tips, suggestions, personal creations, photos, sites... whatever Smiley All will be appreciated!

Image found that best represents the layout of the dorm I'll be in:

Thanks in advance!

You could make one of these to hang on the wall above your desk:
If you don't like denim, you could of course use other (recycled) fabrics.
Happy New Year!

That's so cute BeaG! God knows I could use the help organizing too.
And not only do I have spare denim, I have already cut and hoarded away some denim pockets Cheesy I love this, thank you.

Colleges must buy all their dorm furniture from the same supplier.  I have the exact same type as that, and know several others who do...

Anyway, one thing I did that really helped brighten my dorm room up was cut and design big letters (3-4") in colored paper and such that spelled out "WRITE" and posted them to the wall above my bed.  Simple and easy and cheap, and it's definitely a personalization.  You can do the same with your name, a Bible verse, a catchphrase/motto, whatever.

Paper crafts can be stuck to the wall fairly easy with tape, and usually don't damage any paint or wall-paper that's there.  Postcards of your vacations, special photos, etc.  Or personalizing your bedding, too.  I got some really awesome pillowcases in a swap that are hand-painted and liven up my room greatly Smiley

Good luck!

Well what you can do to decorate and personalize is going to depend a whole lot on whether your roommate wants to decorate WITH you.  Do you know the person?  Is rearranging the furniture an option?

Smile like you mean it, and let yourself let go.
