Questions? Please post in the discussion/gallery:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=368577.0

Swap name: January 2011 Birthday Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: kaz814
Craftster member who is coorganizing: the splendiferous Troublet
Sign-up date range:  January 1-31
DATE TO SEND ITEMS BY:  2 weeks after you make a claim

Limited to a certain number of people?: No.
Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No.
You must be 16 years old to swap.

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES
- Is at least 18 years old: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old: YES
- Participant lives in the United States: YES/NO
   - If yes, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap: YES
   - If no, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: YES

Details of swap:  This swap was organized so everyone can get something crafty for their birthday!  Please read the guidelines carefully.

1. This swap is list style, like the Ongoing Wishlist Swap.  However, it is NOT chain style. You can choose any birthday Craftsters list that is posted, rather than only being able to pick from the last one posted like in the OWS.

2. This is a medium item swap. A medium item is defined as a craft or recon, etc that takes you two hours to complete OR $20 worth of store bought items. (If bought from a thrift store, estimate what it would have cost new.) However, you may also substitute a few small items for a medium.

3. If your birthday is in swap's current month, you can post your birthday wish list for this month. To do that, you must first PM me with the swap questionnaire filled out and wait for approval. While you're waiting, be sure to post in the discussion/gallery thread: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=368577.0

4. Once you have been approved, you may post your list of things that you would like to receive. This is the format for your lists: First post your location and a short bio of yourself, then a list of crafted items you would like, then craft supplies (if any) and lastly you can put a few extras that arent crafted, things like candy or tea. Remember, the more items on your list, the more likely you are to be chosen. The minimum of items to post is five.  Also including your wists, etsy favorites, etc. is a good way for people to get the idea of your likes and style.  If you have any allergies please type them in red in your bio section. Please see "Tips to Creating a Good List" below.

5. Please post lists only in this thread. Discussion can be done here in the combined discussion/gallery thread: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=368577.0  Please be sure to post here so that you can be part of the discussion and receive. You will not be approved until you have posted in the discussion thread.

 6. Every birthday participant must make at least one claim. You may have up to two claims at a time, unless you are an FOC or a first time swapper, and then you can claim again once your items are received (not when you mail out). New swappers may only have one outstanding claim; they may claim again after their first claim is received. FOC's may have 3 outstanding claims at a time. Claims need to be made from the "crafted" and "craft supplies" sections of a person's list. The "extras" are just that--extra items you may want to throw in if you are feeling generous, but claims cannot be solely extras. Keep it crafty :-) (I'm asking that if you are sending mostly supplies, that you craft a little something for the bday babe, even if it's a handmade card.)

7. You may get claimed more than once, but your minimum amount to claim is one.  It is possible you may not get claimed at all. In this case you will not be provided a swap angel; angels are only if you get flaked on. However I do my best to make sure everyone gets claimed by keeping track of how many times each person is claimed. If possible try to pick someone who has been claimed 0 times versus someone who has been claimed 3 times.

8. If it is not your birthday but you would like to send a birthday present out you may do so.  Fill out the non-birthday swapper questionnaire and send it to me for approval.  Birthday swappers who receive a present from a non-birthday swapper must send a snail mail thank you card.  You will not receive feedback until I hear from the other swapper that they have received a thank you card.

9. When you choose to fulfill a birthday wish, PM both the organizer AND the chosen Craftster.  At that time, please request the address from the receiver for where to send it.  After that, you have 2 weeks to get the item out the door.

10. It is super important for everyone to keep good communication.  It is REQUIRED that you PM me when you've sent and of course, don't forget the DC#.  It is REQUIRED that when you receive, you PM me and publicly announce in the gallery (even if you don't have pictures).  If you do not send the appropriate pms you will receive poor communication feedback.

11. When one of your items is chosen, please cross it out so that it is easier for others to see what has been chosen. (It wouldn't hurt to thank the person at this time either.)

12. If you are sending late you must PM me and Troublet by your send-out date.  If your send-out date comes and goes and you dont PM me, you will receive poor communication feedback.  It should not be my job to hunt you down and find out what is going on.

13. *New Rule* If you are flaked on in this swap you will receive an angel, but only in the amount of packages to which you also sent out. For instance, if you send out 2 packages, and are claimed for 3 packages but are flaked on once, you will not receive an angel because you already received 2 packages, which is equal to what you sent. If you send 1 package and are claimed for 1 package and you are flaked on, you will receive 1 angel.

Please make sure to put January Birthday Swap or something equivalent in the subject line on all communications. The most important thing to me is communication. Please PM me and Troublet when you send and receive, and please reply to my PM's to you in a timely manner.

If you format your PMs like this:
Format for PMs:

Proper label:
"January Bday Swap" and either "Sign-up," "Claim," "Sent," "Received," or "Question"

When sending sent and received pm's include the send-by date, listed in the second post of the main thread, your user name, their user name and the item. Just copy and past the info from the second post if you want!:

Send by January 14
kaz814 to Troublet -- pretty purse

Outstanding claims allowed:
FOCs: 3 at a time
First time swappers: 1 at a time
Everyone else: 2 at a time

Become an FOC~

It seems that every month there is someone whose list languishes for a while. I want everyone to get picked so here are some tips for a well-round list:

--Make sure your items are actually mediums and smalls. Quilts are not mediums. Large painted portraits are not mediums. Hand knit sweaters are not mediums. This isnt to say that you cant have any large items on your list (some generous soul may have the time and the inclination to choose one of those!), but the majority of the list should be smaller items
--Listing A surprise plus a well filled out Craftster profile and a link to your wists (with a decent amount of items on it) is always helpful in getting chosen
--Make sure to post a variety of crafting techniques. If you list appliqud t-shirts in five various themes and count that as your required five items, that is more like one item for someone to choose, not five. Having various crafting methods (sewn, knit, crocheted, paper crafted, jewelry, etc.) is going to make it easier for people to choose you.
--Check out other lists in past Bday swaps and the Ongoing Wishlist Swap for ideas for things you never knew you wanted!

Hey there! I'm Aimee and I'll be turning 25 on the 12th!! Hooray for the mid-twenties!! live in Peterborough Ontario. I work in a Spa and love all things to do with beauty and skin! I have a lovely little 3.5 year old son and a Kitty named Tyson as well! I love frogs, Chocolate (mostly dark!) and anything Crayola! I don't drive so anything to keep me warm while walking is fantastic! I don't have any allergies besides dust, caffeine in tea and pine oil! Also I'm a very tiny person! If you need sizes please PM me and I will gladly share... Cheesy

I love most crafts, sewing and crocheting are my main ones right now, but I love to play with wire and beads, embroidery, painting, and am playing around with needle felting and spinning yarn! I would love to learn more about other types of felting and possibly learning how to knit socks!

I watch a lot of TV during my down time while my monster sleeps! My profile gives an idea of the types of shows and movies I like to watch!

My favourite colours are: periwinkle, blue, yellow, pink and when it comes to jewelry I prefer silver over gold!
I also like big bold colourful patterns! I like things bright not dull so don't be afraid to go a little crazy!

I have a wist: www.wists.com/slingmomma

Crafted items:
Anything on my wist! Claimed by nilmerg....Thank You!!
Knitted or crocheted socks!
Handspun yarn- any colour or a fun art yarn would be cool too!
Necklace- could really use one with pink and brown accents on it!

Napkins embroider or stencilled
Handmade notebook-any type of paper is awesome!
Magic yarn ball-even a small one is fun!
Dressy scarves like silks/chiffon, thin knit/crochet... maybe even like these: http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Accessories/It+s+All+a+Blur+Scarf  http://ny-image0.etsy.com/il_fullxfull.195980012.jpg

A large heating pad like this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/62272184/large-lumbar-back-hot-and-cold-pack I am hunched over at work alot so this is a huge want!!! claimed by Retro_Rose, Thank you!!

Hi!! I'm Emerald, and I'll be turning 27 on the 31st. My hubs will be turning 35 on the 26th. We live in South Carolina, near Greenville.
I'm allergic to most commercial soaps. Earring posts need to be sterling silver, or you can send something without a post, and I'll attach it. If they aren't, my ears turn red and blister. Not pretty. Thank you.

Themes: Owls, wolves, peacocks, fairies, mermaids, skulls, nature, astrology, runes, fluer de lis, stars, alchemic symbols, Egyptian things, celtic, vikkings, snowflakes, Tree of life, masonic symbols, Kingdom Of Hearts, Labyrinth

Colors I like: My favorite colors are dark green, maroon, purple, silver, black.

Colors I don't like: Pink, pastels in small amounts are o.k.

-Anything from my wists!

-A purse
-A knitting WIP bag
-Pillows for our couch or bed
-a something to keep my PSP in

-Brooches (I collect them)
-Earrings are always welcome
-Necklaces (between 18-22 inches is good, or long enough to be doubled)
-A headband (I don't like the ones that go all the way around)

-A heartless
- A Mohawk hat Thanks sunspotted!
-An earflap hat Thanks stellato_escuro!

Other crafted things:

-Altoid tins
-Stitch markers
-Row counter
-Altered/painted shoes (sz 9)
-A painted/drawn/embroidered wall art or quote
-A hoop! My wall is growing slowly....

-Thin strips of paper for origami stars

-A birthday card for my hubby
-Pretzel M&M's

Thanks for looking, and maybe claiming!!

My name is Ilana, 23 years old on the 11th and I currently live right outside of Boston. I work at a university in the area!

Likes: Andy Warhol, Bird silhouettes, cute/kawaii prints, Salvador Dali, purple, turquoise, brown and turquoise together, tweed,
Dislikes: Religious items, cats, animal prints, patriotic items, video games, twilight/vampire obsession,  anime, fish/seafood (eating it, and crafts involving it), pastel colors, coconut, when something involves 2 completely unrelated objects (i.e. a painting with both disney characters and looney toons characters), goth, steampunk
Allergies: I have ridiculously sensitive skin, so preferably no lotions or soaps, also if you claim me for earrings, the posts need to be good quality metal (surgical steel works!); Preferably no smoke smell, please :-)

-****Funny Embroidery Hoops: After stalking the Embroidery Hoopla gallery, I have decided I want a hoop wall! I really want funny ones!
    - Like this (but maybe with this page instead) I LOVE the style and all of the colors of this or this is adorable
   - **** BIG WISH**** I would LOVE LOVE LOVE individual hoops of the faces of the characters of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia like the black and white faces from the DVD covers on yellow (if that made any sense).

-or anything that is ridiculously funny/inappropriate for an embroidery haha. Check my wist for a bunch of other ideas.
-or message me, and I will give you some Glee, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Eastbound and Down, Princess Bride, Modern Family, Empire Records, Arrested Development etc. quotes that would be awesome as an embroidery!
**Journal: Like this
-  Bag: Like this ; black or grey, tweed
-  Clutch: Like this ; black or grey, tweed
-  Tiny pouch keychain: Like this
-  Fingerless gloves that transform to mittens: black, dark grey, maroon, dark purple, dark green
-  TINY silver or acrylic studs: Something like this or this
-  Big Wish: Curtains for my windows. I can supply the fabric (matching bed sheet to my bed) and measurements!
- Slouchy hat: I received one that I LOVE in the ongoing wish swap, and I could always use another one. Preferably with thinner yarn so it "slouches" on its own haha. In any dark color (navy, dark purple, dark green, etc.)
- Headbands: plastic ones, as opposed to fabric (the fabric/elastic ones always just pop off my head haha), but decorated as you please
Craft Supplies
- Scrapbook stuff: I can ALWAYS use stickers, paper, cool cutouts, vintage pictures, pretty pictures magazines, pretty much anything that can be glued down haha.
- Baking/cookies supplies: cookie cutters, fun cake pans, tiny loaf pans, cupcake liners, recipes, rolling pin, cookbooks etc.; please no pots/pans/spatulas/spoons/potholders etc. as my roommate is a chef, so we have plenty of those, thanks. I like funny things like: this or this Thank you bedheadchic!
- Fun rubber stamps I'll take anything, used or new. But I especially need alphabet rubber stamps
- Date stamp: You know those stamps that they would stamp library books with when someone would borrow it.. before the days of computers haha
- Fabric: I’m just learning how to work a sewing machine, so I don’t even know what I would make yet but I like cutesy/kawaii fabric, or solid colors (I LOVEE this umbrella fabric ).
- Screen-printing supplies: I’ve always wanted to try doing this!
- Stuff to carve my own rubber stamps
- Circle cutter
- “Badge Factory” refills
- PNB blue transfer paper
- Fiskars replacement blades for paper cutter
- Sharpies or colored pens, especially if they are the fine tipped (or the double sided) sharpies!
- ***Big Wish: Clay extruding gun! Used is fine!

- Erasers: I was a weird child and collected erasers (I have hundreds!) and I noticed that erasers have now become pretty popular, so I am always down to add to my collection haha... especially erasers from gift shops from museums or tourist attractions.
- Hot Sauce or BBQ sauce from your area: I like pretty spicy, but mild enough that I can still put a bit on my food. Please none of the stuff that you can only put one drop in per 15 servings of chili. Thanks!
- Family Recipes: Anything that is yummy and delicious and that you love! Please NO seafood, or anything involving fish products. Thanks!
- Used magazines that I can cut up Smiley

Thank you so much in advance for claiming me and crafting for me :-)

Hey guys,

I'm Charlotte and I'll be 24 on 30th January. I live in London with my other half and 16 month old baby Vincent. I love Frenchiness, beatnik writing and style, tea, Danish decorating, vintage teacups, Sylvia Plath, film noir, baking,  Amsterdam, cherry blossoms, bubble baths, notebooks, handmade cards, sunflowers.
I am so hoping for a wisty/ themed surprise so I have been updating my wist and will try to give you a good sense of my personality style here.
PJ Bottoms in a plaid or tartan material (PM for measurements) can't even describe how thankful I am to PirateColey for claiming these!A stamp with 'Blue Skies, Charlotte xo' for signing off letters and parcels - again this would get so used your karma would max out!
A set of recipe cards - esp. if you want to share your family recipes with me - thankyou strwberesh0rtcke!
Knitted knee high socks
A knitting bag or a knitting needle roll in a pretty vintage/ toile/ floral fabric
Felt food for my little man
Makeup bag/ zip up pouch - I only use six or seven items, including a compact/ powder - so the size of a medium pencil case would be great
Oven gloves - esp in a Marimekko style fabric - these are much needed in my kitchen, but I can't seem to commit to buying a pair!
Notebook - a handbound one would be lovely
Knitted neckwarmer/ collar style in a nice, dark chunky yarn, maybe with some lace trim or a Victorian style button
Compact mirror - I had a really cute one with a Kerouac quote on the back which I lost
A collection of granny squares - I am hoping to stitch them together to make a blanket so would love a couple from different people to get a nice eclectic style
A cakestand
Teacup candles (esp. vanilla scented)
Any kind of bath products/ soaps etc - I don't know why people complain about getting toiletries as gifts! - love cherry blossom, vanilla, lavender and blackcurrant smells (like Flosty Gritter or The Comforter from Lush)
Wallet/ Purse with a couple of spaces for cards and a zip-up coin compartment
Cameo/ Locket - I always wear a necklace with a collection of little pendants on (currently I have a scrabble tile V with a mini Van Gogh painting on the back, a tiny silver heart, a red pendant with cherry blossoms on and a little crucifix) and would like to add to this like a charm bracelet
Embroidered/ Decorated embroidery hoop - something with a kitschy ironic slogan
Crochet granny squares kit - what you consider the essentials, plus some directions would be great!
Cross Stitch sampler kit - I so want an ironic slogan for my walls
This 'Timmy Time' knitting kit - http://www.purplelindacrafts.co.uk/patons-timmy-the-sheep-knitting-kit---pattern-yarn--needles-3022-p.asp (because I can't justify spending any money on myself even though it is for my little man!)
Sharpies - I bought a big pack from the states a couple of years ago and one by one they are just drying up now!
Bakers twine - I love the christmassey feel of the red and white, but I know they do other colours too
Washi tape - pretty packaging is a major weakness, but I am so cack-handed I need something to make up for my uneven corners!
Paper ephemera - old postcards, black and white photos, old magazines etc
Cookie cutters in all shapes and sizes - I am starting a collection but so far only have round, fluted, little letters and a little man shape
Tea towels - especially like the tacky touristy ones from wherever you are in the world
Vintage tea cups - I love love love those commemorative ones they release for a royal wedding or coronation
Flavoured Oreo cookies -  got some Candy Cane ones in the International Snack Swap and am hooked!A selection of your favourite teas
Can't wait to start crafting some birthday goodies!

Blue Skies

Hi! I'm Morgan, AKA lVl0RG4N. I'm turning 23 on 1/4. That makes me a capricorn and a year of the dragon baby. I recently moved from Phoenix, AZ to Ashland, OR. I'll be staying in Oregon until the end of February and then I'm heading to Anchorage, AK for 13 weeks. After that, I'm going to Portland, OR where I will be starting college for graphic design and web development. Currently I am not working due to my state hopping, but Ive always worked in technical support.

I come from a home with 2 cats and a dog, so pets dont bother me. I would rather not have any items that have been around cigarette smoke, please. If you are sending jewelry, please refrain from using findings on earrings. I can supply my own sterling silver, or if you have some laying around, please substitute. Thanks!

I appreciate everyone taking the time to craft for the birthday kids.

lVl0RG4N's Birthday Wishes:

-Bob Ross Deity Shrine
I recently moved to beautiful southern Oregon (and will be moving to Alaska in 8 weeks and then down to Portland 13 weeks after that). I have always been a huge Bob Ross fan, and as I drove from Arizona to Oregon, I began wondering if Bob Ross was looking down from above and making everything beautiful for me to look at. Since then, I've kind of started thinking of Bob (aka Pappy Ross) as a deity of beautiful landscapes and memories of beautiful landscapes. I now need a shrine so that I can properly worship Pappy Ross.

-Anything Mary/Our Lady of Guadalupe
When I'm not state hopping, I like to have my bathroom decorated in Mother Mary. All of my decor is packed up and I sure do miss her. I am open to anything Maryish, from funky zombie Mary to a weird Mary statue you found at the dollar store. Wall art, towels, soap. Anything Smiley.

-The chicken from Robot Chicken

-A Nook cover
I just got a Nook Color for Christmas. I looooove it, but it needs a more artsy home than the cover I bought for it.

-Anything inspired by the following movies/shows: Glee, Indiana Jones, True Blood

-A Teesha Moore inspired item - could be a journal, purse, wall hanging, anything!

-1/6 scale doll items
I recently purchased a couple of Moxie Teenz dolls, and now have a knock off Blythe doll on her way. I am happy to receive any thing from clothes to polymer clay food to furniture to art

-Something knitted/crocheted
Baby, it's cold in Oregon. After years of living in Phoenix, AZ, I have been deprived of basic human necessities such as gloves, scarves, and hats. I would love to have something handmade that I can wear when it's frickin' freezing outside. Thanks Barbara!

-Wall Art
I would love some wall art. Could be subway art, could be a painting, a collage, a chunky house.

Themes: Inspiration, Spirituality and God (not Christian, but more general), Faith, Self Confidence and Love, Motivation, Flowers, Nature

-A doll
I love dolls. Plushie dolls, sculpted dolls, BJDs, fashion dolls. I just love them all!

-Something French Bulldog inspired Thanks SMLounsbury!
I have a knock off French Bulldog. She was supposed to be a French Bulldog, but over the years she's morphed into what we like to call a Mexican Bulldog. She kind of looks like a Chihuahua mixed with Frenchie. It's sad, and she's ugly, but we love her all the same. I'd love anything French Bulldogish to put around and remind her that she's supposed to be a very real, very expensive French Bulldog.

-Cloth Pads
Id love to get some cloth pads with wings, lined in PUL. These would be used all month long to replace pantyliners.

-Something random that you feel like sending out
I haven't received birthday presents since I was probably 12 from anyone other than my mom, so it's exciting for me to get and make some presents. If you have some awesome craft that you think I need to experience, I'd love to get it.

Hi all, My Name is Elaine, my birthday is on 16th January and I will be turning 31.  I live in New South Wales, Australia. I am a SAHM with 2 beautiful girls aged 1 and 3 years old. My life is so focused on them that I have noticed that even my birthday wish list includes items for them! I really enjoy crafting and have only recently discovered swapping on craftster, although Ive been using the site for years. I have really enjoyed making crafts for others and receiving their work. It seems to have given me some focus and has been helping me recover from post-natal depression. I have the swapping bug!!!!! My favourite colours are purple, silver, navy blue, khaki green and dark green (but NOT Camo). I have had quite a liking of pinks since Ive had my two girls! I like Celtic and Scottish stuff (my heritage), historical/ archaeological stuff, cooking, reading, red dwarf, funky fitted t-shirts, my favourite animal is a lady bug. I prefer not to receive items that are gold, of religious nature, explicit or nudity thank you. We have no allergies, but prefer our crafts to arrive smoke and pet hair free but as long as you smoke away from your craft and you dont let your pets sit on your knitting then we should be ok!

Wist surprise  wist - Claimed by Avesthel - Thank you - But there is always more on my wist! But you might like to check with Avesthel so there are no double-ups!!!
Altered Laundry powder box - Im thinking a tin or maybe a wooden box with hinged lid needs to hold about 1kg powder?
Wall art : example of things I like: this , this, this  and this
Sun hats for my girls In Australia, you can NEVER have too many sun hats. They are sleeping as I write, so if you want to try this project, then let me know and Ill get the head circumferences.
Door plaques with my girls names on them. Maybe something like Jennilocker made for this FOC Wist swap: door plaque
Set of inchies, ATCs or an altered puzzle that I can frame and hang on the wall. (Im am so unartistic when it comes to paper crafts its unreal!)
Fitted t-shirt for me with cool printed/appliqued design Im an Australian size 16 on top (which I believe is a US size 14 or a UK size 16). I quite like this tree of life t-shirt  But Im open to any design.
Clothes for my girls I love anything that is a bit different to what all the other kids are wearing we only have one decent clothes shop in town, so most kids own the same clothes around here! Let me know if you fancy this one and what measurements you might need. It is summer here at the moment, but I'm thinking something for the comming winter would be great
Earrings I usually wear silver (type) stud earrings no danglies. When I was younger, you could pick up pretty cheaply a huge assortment of earrings spiders, pot leaves(!), elephants, flowers etc. I would love some new ones as many of mine are nearly 15 years old! They dont need to be pairs as I usually wear odd earrings anyway! These and these are very cute.
An Embroidery hoopla Im a bit late to join this craze, but I wouldnt mind starting a hoopla wall. There are a couple of examples of ones I like in my wist
Pendants necklace I am always wearing a pendant  type necklace on a just longer than choker length black thong. I have quite a collection which has grown nicely since Ive started swapping on craftster, but I always need more. Anything goes, although not too big and I would ALWAYS choose silver over gold. (doesnt have to be real silver, Im not allergic to anything). I really like the glass pendants that Dawl makes, especially the row of flowers one. There are a few examples on my wist
A colection of your favourite recipes - I love to cook and would love to try out your favourite recipes, particularly if they are passed down through the generations family recipes. My recipe book is just an A4 folder, so they don't have to look too flash! We eat meat, but I also enjoy vegetarian food. Please don't send me 'add a can of this and a packet of that' type recipes, I like to cook from scratch.

Craft supplies
I have just started making inchies and I have a black sharpie, but would love some sharpies in other colours (particularly brown!) Anything else to help my new found inchie creative streak would be appreciated
2.5 fussy cut squares for an eye spy quilt I need lots of them still! Or scraps of fabric with identifiable objects that I can cut down to 2.5 squares.
Some machine embroidered images or numbers or letters  on 2.5 squares that I can incorporate into my eye-spy quilt.
Fat quarters or 20cm / 8-10 cuts of tone on tone fabric. So for example say Blue with blue swirls or green with green spots. (to go between the fussy cut squares I dont want plain, but dont want to distract too much from the I-spy game either)
Any other quilting fabrics you have to offer even reasonable sized scraps as I do quite a bit of applique. Patterns or plains, neat or scrappy, anything goes when it comes to my stash!
Any buttons, as many as you can spare, odd or not.
Empty Janome bobbins clear plastic (not metal) Not sure it makes much difference, but my machine is a DC3018 example

Other things / extras
Quilting magazines or books, second hand is fine.
If there is space in the parcel, I wouldnt turn down some yummy treats! I love mint chocolate (but make sure you wrap it well as it's summer here and if tragedy happened I wouldn't want it to melt onto your creation!)
Have you ever taken an artistic photo? - that one in a million that just looks great - I'd love a copy. Even a 6x4" would be great.
Incense holder that catches the ash and incense (I like nag champa). Doesnt have to be as fancy as the one Ive linked, but I do like this one!

Thanks in advance!

Hello fellow January babies.  My name is Allison and I will be 41 on the 11th of January.

About Me

I live in the middle of nowhere, Ontario, Canada.  In winter it's like living in an uninhabited snowglobe (are there inhabited snowglobes, I'm not sure, I find snowglobes kind of creepy, not as creepy as dolls or clowns or jack in the boxes, but still, creepy).  Just me and the wild animals and that suits this hermit-in-training just dandy.

I have two dogs and three cats, but fortunately I also own a washer/dryer, several lint rollers and the patience to de-fur my swap items in the middle of the local post office.  I love books and music and being outside when it isn't too hot.  I love to garden but I have a black thumb and several dead spider plants to attest to this fact.  I love baking and cooking, but I hate chopping things.  When I win 50 million dollars in the Lotto Max, I am going to hire someone to drive me around and someone to clean my house in that order.  I would make an excellent rich person, clearly fate had a mixup in not making that happen yet.  Paris Hilton probably has my money.

I love to crochet and am good enough at it to share my creations.  I love lots of other crafts too but haven't really gotten to the second part in them yet, but I'm working on it.  I like most all colours but prefer earth tones and cooler colours.  Yellow and pink and purple are all rare in my life and I'm okay with that.  I'm allergic to most metal, can't wear wools against my skin and am allergic to my own hair.  I'm very bossy, always a little sleep-deprived, I talk too much, drink too much coffee and I trip over my own feet on a regular basis.  Thanks so much for choosing to craft for me.  An appreciation for hand made stuff is in my blood (thanks mom) and getting mail is perhaps my favourite thing on earth.

Crafted Stuff
(examples of most of these things can be found on my wist)

* HUGE WISH!!  Dog seat cover for my Jeep, any colour that goes with beige (particularly reds/rusts/oranges/browns).  Large dogs, so sturdy fabric is necessary.  Example on my wist.
* Stencil of Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory so I can make myself a million T-shirts that say "I'm Batman" because I just discovered this show, I adore Sheldon and it makes me laugh and laugh and laugh some more.
* Recipe scrapbook, full-size something with heavier (cardstock) pages that I can glue recipes into.
* Full-sized stationary, light colours only please for writing to my grandmaman.
* A small, hooped or framed embroidery.  Black & white would be awesome.  Or some birds.  Or trees.  Maybe some black & white birds sitting in black & white trees?  Or a silhouette of something.  Perhaps a bird?   Wink -- thank you llisaredd
* Black & white art for my walls - photography, sketches, charcoals (love), embroidery, etc.
* I broke my magnifying compact and I still havent replaced it, and I thought someone might want to make me a decorated one??  Yes/no??   Must be magnifying, I am old and blind.
* Decorated black & white picture frames.
* Soft eye mask that you put in the freezer - corn or wheat would be awesome, rice smells a little funny to me.  -- thanks Slingmomma
* Scented sachets for my closet (hanging) and my drawers (not-hanging).  I'm not a huge fan of the traditional lavender scent, so something else less floral would be fabulous.
* A fabric business card holder that snaps shut, in earthy colours please.
* Fabric scarf in almost any colour or combo except yellow, teal or purple. -- thanks Slingmomma
* Hair accessories for longish, thickish, wavy-ish hair, preferably barrettes and pins, I have lots of headbands.
* Fruity smelling candles.
* Sugar scrub, no salt please, no flowery scents.
* Mug rug - I had no idea how desperately I needed one until a thread popped up in the swaps.   Cheesy

* I have a wist.  Its growing every day and I would love anything from or inspired by it! -- thank you Miss Barbara

(I live far away from any and all craft stores, supplies are like gold to me, an all-supply package would be wonderful)

* BIG WISH!  Cotton fabric, at least 1 metre in some type of baked good print (cupcakes, pies, doughnuts, etc.).  Preferably without faces, though that might be harder to find.
* Yarn I do not recognize the concept of too much yarn, it is impossible.  Who am I kidding, a box of Red Heart Super Saver and I'm in heaven.  Fancy, fabulous yarn is wonderful.  Handspun is divine.  Baby yarn that isn't pink (I have enough pink) is wonderful.  Theres no such thing as too much cotton (especially bright colours).  I've fallen in love with felting, so wool is fabulous, especially in blues and greens (for a kitty bed).  Id also love to try fancy types that I cant get here recycled, corn, soy, bamboo, hemp, wool blends, etc.  Especially bamboo.  I have a project in mind for my mom that requires 4x80g of a bamboo yarn - a red or jewel tone colour would be fantastic.  I hate buying online, I always get the colour wrong.  This being said, I do not recognize novelty yarn (including the evil boucle) as actual yarn.  No need to send any of that.
* Black and white patterned scrapbook paper, not all the same, full sized sheets to put on my walls.
* I would really love a bamboo handled G (4.5mm) and/or H (5mm) crochet hook.
* Bright blue and bright green fabric, solids or patterns.  Its for a truly patchwork quilt so smallish pieces are fine.
* Afghan patterns especially the newer best of booklets that many yarn companies have.  The fancier, the better.
* Embroidery hoops - all sizes, preferably wood but non-neon plastic is fine too.
* Large to giant glass beads and/or seed beads, any colour, actually a bag of bead soup would be wonderful.
* Black paint markers - I can't paint but I'm an excellent colourer-inner.
* Small frames (3x5" ish) wood not plastic please.  I need 10 but you don't have to send that many and they don't have to match.
* Paint stir sticks.
* Small pieces of softwood, I've been playing around with some pendant carving.
* Interesting pieces of driftwood, any size.
* Cookie cutters.
* Shrinky dink stuff (is it plastic, what does one call this material?).
* Ami safety eyes, the all black type for animals instead of people dolls.
* Candle scents - food not flowers please.

* I never say no to sugarless gum, hard candies or favourite recipes (especially for baking).
* Maldon sea salt.  I can't find it here, my grocery store won't order it and I am craving pretzels like crazy.
* Green tea powder.
* Other foodie extras, I LOVE to bake.
* Surprise me!  I like useful things as opposed to purely decorative.  Storage ideas are particularly appreciated.
