I claim quaggy for a poppet making kit

3rd claim, 0 sent, 0 received

My name is Robin and I live in Portland, OR, USA with my partner, Phil, and our almost 3 year old daughter, Aria.  I just entered a PhD program full time, so between school and my toddler, I am kept pretty busy.

I am all over the board, I like whimsical, edgy, bohemian, steampunk, pretty, bold, soft, hardI wear a lot of black and gray, but Ive been branching out into the wondrous color wheel.  I love red and turquoise together. I prefer rich, jewel tone colors and earthy colors! I find myself mostly drawn to blues and greens. I am not fond of neon or pastels.  I like images of birds, squirrels, mice, and trees, but I also really like skulls, anatomy, skeletons (especially of birds and other non-human creatures), and old locomotives.  I have officially switched over to pinterest.  I just think the size of the photos and the layout are better.  I moved everything I could over to it.  You can check it out for a better idea of what I like.  http://pinterest.com/rlynn/

a quick note if you claim anything for my daughter...we arent into cartoon branded stuff.  i cant stand barbie or bratz or disney princess.  she likes the ocean, digging in the dirt, burying herself in sand, and splashing in water.  for these reasons durable and washable is always good.  thanks!

Some of my wishes, BIG wishes in bold  Grin

NEW*Artwork, clothing, SOMETHING, ANYTHING inspired by The Fairy Ship  OKAY, this is a BIG OLE Wish.  Aria and I stumbled upon this song in a reprint of an old Walter Crane's kids' book.  It is now her absolute favorite song for bedtime.  She insists I sing it not once but TWICE each night.
Apparently, he also published a book of the song, with illustrations...I need to hunt this book down.  But I digress, here is a link to some of the illustrations...http://scrap.oldbookillustrations.com/tagged/the_fairy_ship

There seems to be a bit of discrepancy between song lyrics...not unusual for folk songs.  The version we sing...is

A ship, a ship a sailing, a sailing on the sea
And it was heavily laden with pretty things for me
There were raisins in the cabin, and almonds in the hold
The sails were made of satin, and the sails they were of gold

The four and twenty sailors who stood between the decks
Were four and twenty white mice with rings about their necks
The captain was a duck, a duck, with a jacket on his back
And when this fairy ship set sail, the captain he said...quack!

* tees, tunics, hoodies, pants, or dresses for Aria (3T)

I claim sarahj2001 for something wisty.

1st claim this round, 0 sent, 0 received.

Hi, Im Kirsten, Im a full time student. I live in New Zealand, married with two teenaged stepsons and two spoilt cats. I love art and I do a lot of drawing and printmaking.

I like most colours, and particularly blue/green/teal/aqua, natural tones, or black and white. Im not so keen on pastels and pinks/purples (though dusty/dull shades can be nice). See my profile or my wist for more ideas about my taste.

I dont have allergies. I prefer natural fibres, but not exclusively, so if you think its nice Ill probably like it too. Im happy to chat, and easy to please.

Since I live far, far away, I do appreciate craftsters being willing to send to me. I try to keep my wishlist items small and light. Thank you!!

* wisty surprise - http://wists.com/jemimah
* a Star Trek or Doctor Who thingy, whatever you like to make, my faves are Spock, tardis and daleks. (Useful rather than decorative is usually my preference, but any Spock, tardis, or dalek item that lands in my letterbox will find a home)
* a fox or a British robin in your favourite craft medium (again, great if its useful, but not essential)
* things to put other things in box, purse, organiser, etc. always welcome

* a pockety bag lots of different size pockets for projects/art supplies, any style or size, doesnt have to have any zippers
* a tardis pockety bag would be truly awesome
* a Cake or Death? tea cosy (Eddie Izzard quote) Id prefer sewn (stencilled/appliqu/embroidered/whatever), rather than knitted
* something embroidered (hand or machine, a panel for me to make into something, or a finished item basically, anything you think I might like!)
* crafty organiser (e.g. needlework project holder, thing for storing small supplies and bits, stationery organiser)

* handknitted wool socks (average womens size, any colour)
* felted scarf like the ones on my wist (green/teal/lime/aqua would be great)
* felted bowls/containers
* hand dyed/hand spun yarn (any colour you think looks good)

* handmade sketchbook/journal (unlined if possible, mixed/recycled papers are great)
* handmade stamps in a theme I like (see my profile and wists), e.g. birds, frogs, fish, trees, art related.

* handmade ceramic item, esp. in celadon green (but any colours are good) keep it small and affordable to mail. (I would love a little fox like the one on my wist)
* hair sticks/comb/pin or shawl pin not too girly please, see wist
* something else that I havent thought of, that you think Id like!

* real silk for embroidery, any colours, any brand, any type this is my big wish, its hideously expensive where I live (its probably not that cheap where you live, but I bet its cheaper than here!). I particularly love Soie d'Alger (made by Au Ver Soie). If you send me some Soie d'Alger, I will also send you a tiny pretty made with it by way of extra thanks. Smiley
* interesting embroidery supplies (please stick with quality over quantity, Id much rather have a tiny envelope with a few lovely skeins/little things than lots of cheap floss/beads, and it's also cheaper for postage!) The sort of stuff I like is DMC, anything silk or linen, Au Ver Soie, Japanese stuff, bits for goldwork (purl, kid, etc.), handmade/hand dyed, quirky things. Vintage/second hand is fine.  No Aida please.
* silk or embroidered fabric, Japanese fabric (just small bits for embroidery and tiny things; no bulk fabric Id love it, but it may bankrupt you to mail it)
* Noro yarn, recycled sari yarn, other silk/luxury yarn, artisan yarn
* thick stampcarving material (I have the tools, but the only stuff to carve I can easily find here is lino and small erasers)
* nice paper - e.g handmade, japanese, printmaking, textured, any colour or weight - it's for printmaking, so plainish rather than very patterned - but whatever you think is nice would be great
* small art supplies items:-
     - pencils, markers and pens (Prismacolor/Derwent/Caran D'Ache/Posca for example, or similar)
     - peel and sketch charcoal pencils
     - drypoint etching tools (needle, roulette, plastic for etching)
     - inkpads, little stencils, stamps, etc.
* 100% wool felt
* bamboo DPNs (I have quite a few sizes in metal, but no bamboo)
* knitting needle gauge
* DMC StitchBow floss holders - just the gold coloured sticks (I have plenty of the plastic pockets to put them in)
* white embroidery transfer pencil/pen (something suitable for putting designs on dark fabric)
* small sewing supplies rickrack, bias binding, cotton tape/ribbon

* I always enjoy bookmarks, vintage/interesting buttons, little pouches, etc.
* small chipboard shapes, a little paper ephemera (maps, vintage, black and white, foreign language)
* no candy (I like it TOO much)

Smiley Smiley Thank you to everyone who has sent me lovely things!!! Some things are still on my list, because I love what you sent, and I am happy to receive similar things again.

NB. New Zealand has tough biosecurity at the border. This is very unlikely to apply to this swap, but just in case ... Please dont send natural materials (feathers, leaves, wood, seeds e.g. lavender, etc.) Everything on my list is absolutely fine to send, but PM me if youre unsure about something. Thanks  Smiley

i claim jemimah for a wisty surprise.

2nd claim, 0 sent, 0 received

hi. i am nicole. i just turned 30 which is bizzare for me since i feel nowhere near adulthood. my boyfriend, our dog gnarley and i have a house in downtown troy, ny. i have a stinky waitressing job, but i also have a job i really love- i work on a beautiful alpaca farm. i even own my own alpaca.
i used to have crafting a.d.d., but now i mostly stick to embroidery and x-stitch. i really like bright/bold colors, and HATE pastels or anything too girly like butterflies and hearts (but i do like anatomical hearts). i love retro prints and styles, especially mod. i am very turned off by synthetic scents, but i love natural ones and essential oils (EXCEPT patchouli). i love kitsch and have a very quirky and sometimes inappropriate sense of humor. i am really into all things eco-friendly and love to re-use/recycle, so pre-loved or gently used stuff is cool with me!

i have a pretty detailed profile and a lengthy wist so please check them out for plenty of ideas or to get an idea of my style!

*the stuff with an asterisk i would really love

*-anything off of or inspired by my wist. take a look, if there is something you can make, please do!  http://www.wists.com/skaborsk

-wall art that incorporates this quote from Willy Wonka- "candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker" (my boyfriend and i love our scotch and wine!)

*-knitted/crocheted booties or slippers. i am a us size 8

-a small needle felted sloth. there is one on my wist that is friggin adorable!

*-glass etched shot glasses. maybe with garden gnomes, or a Beatles (the band, not the bug) theme, or anything you think i might like*

-a retro style apron

-a fitted t-shirt that says Crafty Motherfucker in any color except pink. i am usually a womens size med in fitted tees. large in juniors

-handmade natural soaps with yummy edible scents, NO flowery, NO musky scents please!

-plain all beeswax candles. thats probably my favorite smell in the world...

-weatherproof decorations for my extremely kitschy/eclectic garden

-something to put on the front of my ugly dishwasher. the front panel is not metal so magnets will not stick. maybe a vinyl decal or something like it. i saw a dark green venus flytrap one that was pretty cool.....

-a collaged or mixed media wall hanging that looks like or involves honeycomb (i know there are so many of you paper craftsters that could do something really cool with this theme!)

*-wool dryer balls

-hot plates/ trivets

** -screenprinted cloth napkins. i love pretty much all the ones in this shop, especially the banana ones http://www.etsy.com/shop/ohlittlerabbit

craft supplies:
-sublime stitching patterns: daniel johnston, lucha libre, dia de los muertes, spaced out
-small bubble mailers
*-solid color linen like fabric for embroidering on
-water soluble pens/markers for embroidery pattern transfer
-vintage buttons
-tiny decorations for my mini moss terrariums. like little model train accessories (deer, people, that sort of thing)

-TEA!!! especially organic, black, and chai are my favorites
-specialty dark chocolate
-Vernor's ginger ale!!!! i cant get it in NY so even just one can of it would make me estatic.

I am a 22 year old collage student. I have 2 kids that live with my mom. I am going through a divorce and life is pretty different then what I the thought it would be last year or even the year before. I am trying to get my life somewhat on track with a long way to go. I really love pin up burlesque fabrics, teal and brown or blue and brown, Sailor Jerry ( He did my grandpa's tatoo's years ago in Hawaii, I love useable items and have no use for things to sit around. No room. I really love purses, pretty scarves, hats ( I am picky about the yarn and look however) I live in socks, hate Mcdonalds love Sonic and Jack n the box. If you want to know something it is much easier to PM me then guess Wink Also I will answer email QUICK but dont get onhere ever day so it is a bit harder as I dont have net at where I stay but go to Mom's or school Smiley

I love the color pink and love really pretty fabrics like beach, modern, floral (think Hawaii and hibiscus flowers) I like blue  ( I think this is the new trend) with brown, funky floral and girl's cute fabric I like Oreo cookies and milk chocolate and mike and Ike's and am up for trying anything from other countries hard candy and milk chocolate. I don't like fruit other then coconut  or nuts in my chocolate.
areo candy bars and things like that with crisps and air in them.
Dark and white chocolate
Mean judgemental people
The color black and neon, uber bright,tye-dye,dark purple, mauve and magenta yuck dont do green but teal..
I am not a huge fan of multi color polka dots, big paisley, or small old lady looking flowers.
Birds even owls creep me out
Gothic, creepy or even super cute like Hello kitty ( but it is OK I guess in small bits for my daughter) like hair bow or socks that sort of thing but now head to t
Nothing off my wist please it is a mess. I don't even know really what is on it it has been so long and a lot has changed in my taste.
