I am done crafting for other people for now..I have done so much of it leading up to christmas, but its now done so its crafting for me..

I used this tutorial https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=241981.0 and was inspired by this https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=366530.0

to make this (OK so its a crappy pic, trust me it looks better in real life!)

its bound without glue, medium weight suede for the cover, with a little brad for decoration, plain heavyweight cream watercolour paper inside and two little ties to hold it closed..

C&C welcome...

It is gorgeous!  There is something about leather and paper that satisfies the soul...I'm all about a tactile journal Smiley

How did you attach the pages to the cover?

I used that button hole stitch tutorial from the first link. The cover is held on by the thread that goes from the signatures around the cover and back inside the signature. I am not sure that I love it..I do like coptic stitch, perhaps if I had used a thicker thread it would have looked better and perhaps held a little more securely..

but I love the tactile nature of it, and the simplicity..simplicity and restraint are very difficult for me, I tend to keep adding and adding and adding...it was funny when Phizzy and I sat down to journal together in a London Pub, she was able to stop when the pages looked good. I have to fill every inch...and then add glitter...

so being able to stop at just one (OK two..brads) was quite an achievement for me!..lol
