Hi All,

I just wanted to share the latest addition to my Christmas decorations with you all. I'm in Australia so Christmas here is bloody hot and we miss out on the whole fireplace thing and dressing the mantle and all that good stuff that you guys in the Northern Hemisphere get. Soooo, I decided to make a miniature fireplace that wouldn't create heat in this 38C degree heat (100.4F).

It's made from a cut up cardboard box for the backing and base, covered in scrapbook paper for the wall and the floor is a cork board I cut to fit. I made the fireplace from chipboard and also covered in paper. The chair is cardboard and felt which I made from scratch and am most proud of. The tree is cardboard and felt also. I love me some felt! haha Oh, and the "fire" is a battery operated tea-light candle covered in tissue paper flames with chopped up bits of dowel for wood.

I hope you like. Comments are very welcome.

I hope you all have a wonderful festive season. xox

edit: forgot to mention in case anyone was wondering, the mini candles on the mantle are just Birthday cake candles cut down to size. Smiley

That is so cute! When I first saw it I thought it was an interior decorating project!

very cute indeed! What's the scale like? I thought it was really small but the birthday candles make it seem much bigger than I had imagined!

That is so cute! I don't have a fireplace or mantle to decorate during the holidays, so this is a super cute way to address that. I might have to try something like this next year. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, guys.

It's Barbie doll scale so I think that's 1/6, so it's big-ish.

This is great!  The chair is my favorite, but I also love that the fire glows.
