I learned something interesting at my quilt guild meeting tonight.  It's not about needle books but it's about needles.  Feb. 8th is Broken Needle Day in Japan.  It's about taking your hard working needles that are past there use and putting them to rest.  It's a 400 year old festival. It's also about honering the little things in life..like needles Grin


This was my first google search on it and it seems to explain things..

Thank you for posting this! I love it! I'm going to honour my broken needles on Tuesday.

Suereal - that is such a wonderful idea - now I just have to find my broken needles - usually its by stepping on one or it sticking out of an appendage  Grin Actually I don't break as many as BEND them.

My partener recieved 3 days ago and hasn't posted yet   Sad Embarrassed Sad Sooooo Anxious that it was to her liking - I really thought it was pretty.

no worries! i do LOVE the book and have been fighting with photo bucket to get posted and finally had success. the flower on the front is amazing!!! and i love the little tabs so i can write sizes in-very clever.

Well, I finally got back from a loooong underway, and it was a lovely "welcome back" to get my needlebook when I checked my mail! evilpixie made it, and it is PERFECT!!!!! I seriously love it! I am a huuuge Mario fan, so this is perfect! And it's made of fleece, so it's super soft. She also sent a little needle-felted mushroom charm. It's so cute! I LOVE it! I'm so glad this was my first swap; it really turned out well! And now for the pics...
