My lovely boyfriend is a greengrocer on a market stall, so at this of year is usually in a state of slight blueness with extra cracky fingers, so I decided to make him a bespoke pair of gloves using my favourite wool, Alafoss lopi!

I think he may have got a little bored of me stealing his hands every 10 mins while i checked size as i went along, but with the recent cold snap here in Blighty, he says the gloves are increasingly brilliant  Smiley

He needed to have the tips of his thumb and first 2 fingers open for bagging up and serving, but his ring and little finger get extra cold because they're just not used as much, so hey presto, i created the half and half fingerless/fingered gloves. He's had them for about 3 weeks now, and they've gone all lovely and fluffy, and the weather conditions have kind of naturally felted them a little, so they're even more toasty. And after his initial worry that they'd be trashed after a week of heavy lifting all the veggies, he's amazed at how more they protect his fingers than the work gloves he used to wear (which frankly were freezing cold!!)

And they match my mittens too  Smiley  (that's my shiny puppy sticking in his in the photo)

That's what I love about handmade: you can make exactly what you need! Those are awesome gloves!
