Lapoli--those little mitts are cute! Great idea, and you'll have them for the next cold day down there. Smiley

I have a picture of the T-shirt rug I neeeeeed to get finished, and another UFO on my Tadpole loom. I keep moving these projects aside to get at other things, so they need to be completed and put to use. The little Tadpole loom is fun to use, but I started this scarf right before hubby bought me my rigid heddle loom last summer. Anything that was not weaving was abandoned for a long time. The knitting looms are easy to use, and produce a nice double-stockinette. They are also supposed to be good for doing intarsia patterns, which still scare me. Depending on how my year goes, I might attempt an intarsia scarf on one of these looms. For now, I need to add:
32. Finish knitting loom scarf.

The yarn I am using for the scarf is "I Love This Yarn" from Hobby Lobby. I do not recommend using Red Heart on the small wooden looms. The results will be stiff as a board. Wool would be better, but this scarf is for a kid. The Hobby Lobby yarn is nice and soft, and easy to care for.

Here is a link to how these are used. You can cast on to a knifty knitter long loom this way as well. It makes a nice squishy scarf, and I like this method better than the one that is taught with the KK looms.
I like to thread my yarn through an old pen barrel before I start knitting. Makes the work more ergonomic and much faster.  Smiley

The T-shirt yarn is made of 1/2 inch thick continuous strips. 1 inch is too thick for my projects. Tutorial here:

Edited to add:
I just found project #33. A simple crocheted cowl like this one. I think it would be fun and relaxing to work on in a multicolored, painterly yarn.

I am doing a 50 projects in 2011 for myself, but I am doing all jewelry or jewelry related projects. One of my New Year Crafting Resolutions was to limit myself this year to my favorite craft and master skills (and save money on just one craft Smiley )

I do not have the list yet but I do have a notebook paper filled with projects from books, magazines and the web I wanted to do Smiley

I finished project #2 on my list!  Technically I finished it in 2010 but I'm counting it on my personal list for 2011 since I finished it today.  So anywho - I'll take pictures sometime later and post them.  But the shrug I'm getting paid for is finished so I can hand it over on Monday or Tuesday when I get back to school/work.

Now - I can start the shrug for the significant other's mom.  I'm not sure how its going to work out though...  doing the same project with two strands of yarn is much thicker so...  hmmmm....   Huh

I am cleaning out the craft room.  Its too cluttered and messy.  I hope a bit of sprucing up and purging of odds and ends that I have accumulated over the years but have no use for will jump start the motivation.  Its starting to look better...I can see the floor and some table space.

I am slightly amused that I rang in the new year organizing my sewing notions.

Happy new year, everyone! I'm going to concentrate on my getting my sketchbook done to start out the year. The deadline is in two weeks, and I don't want to be embarrassed by my work (or lack thereof).
