I have a 6 foot tall black Christmas tree that I'll be using for a Halloween tree this year. The only two ornaments I have for it.  Cry

I need to get to work so my tree doesn't look pathetic.

Lolaandbean-- I love that two headed giraffee!  YOu'll definately have to post pics of your finished tree.

Always - did you say spoonflower does free swatch giveaways every thursday or did I dream that up?

I don't think it is every Thursday...it was probably coincidence that when I go to look for inspiration and fabric, that it was a free swatch day...sorry...I think it was just a promotion for that day...did you get yours from last week?  I know some people did already! Sad

I will check with Maremare...I know she had a list of all the fabric places that had free samples, swatches, etc. We are both fabric hoarders... Cheesy

I haven't gotten mine yet.  I thought it might be fun to collect some to make a small wall hanging or mini quilt of pretty fabrics that I like, but can't really afford $18/yd to make a whole quilt.

I'm all in for free fabric Smiley

I'm so excited to win a challenge!!!!!  Grin  Grin

I was thinking about buying swatches here and there from Spoon flower to make a small nautical lap quilt, I wonder how often they do free swatches.....

I've been working on my Tim Burton altered puzzle, two pieces down and I definite plans for 3 more. I got sucked up in the book series The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel and really haven't been doing much crafting.  Roll Eyes

Alisha--I would buy one of those learn to sew simplicity patterns and make PJ pants or a simple skirt first...nothing with a zipper! Cheesy The instructions usually include basics like how to lay out fabric etc.

Or maybe an apron...a mug rug has corners, quilting, turning inside out, etc. However, I think you could handle it!  Trial and error is a good teacher, even if the project turns out a bit wonky! Cheesy  JUMP IN!!!

Guys, not to be a meanie--but can we take the tattoo talk to the Tattoo thread, please? Cheesy
Thanks Always, I actually already know how to sew(though I am not advanced). This is my second machine, which is why I am so excited yet intimidated by it because there are so many new-to-me features that I don't even know where to begin! I actually like working with zippers and have often questioned what is so scary about them.  Huh  I have quilted before but only once. It was 12 years ago and I made a pillow for a "pioneer" project. Though that was a while ago. I was just wondering if there was any tips mug rug related that I should know before I start. Hmm maybe I will just tackle it and hope for the best.

Sorry about the tattoo talk. Ones with tattoos have a bond like crafters do. When a new member joins the group or when there is talk about it, it is hard not to get overly excited.  Tongue  Cool

I received my sample today from SpoonFlower.

And I think my next project needs to be working on the craft room - again (or still). *sigh*  Our library/office/craft room is all one big room, and I've been trying for almost three years to figure out how to arrange the furniture so that it works  I just reversed the room, and now all the craft supplies are a disaster again.  Roll Eyes

I finished 2 projects!  I completely underestimated how motivating blogging would be; I like to talk about the projects so I'm more likely to get them done!

I got the BF's Hiccup costume made for Halloween/GenCon (the other pieces will be bought, so I consider my part done)

I also finished a sleeveless top for myself (just as it's getting too cold to wear them!) from Simplicity 2181.

I'm up to 12!  I may make it to 25 yet this year; just gotta keep going...
