One of my closest friends is learning Reiki at the moment, and meditates every day!  He had a couple of pictures in his house of the chakra system, and these gave me the idea of what to make him for his Christmas present this year.  Don't think I really realised how big an undertaking this was initially lol.  I found a chakra diagram I liked and then turned the picture into a pattern using KG Stitch.  This pattern turned out to by pretty darn complicated, and involved lots of tricky counting, and much confusion on my brain's part!!  I started this project in June and worked on it off and on for a few months.  Recently my friend has been a massive help to me, and it made me more determined than ever to actually get it finished, after not picking it up for several weeks.  From about mid November I have been working on it constantly and after lots of hard work I finally finished it Cheesy  Once the cross stitch part was complete I stitched it onto a cream pillowcase, and inserted a piece of card in the middle for some extra support, and so it would hold it's shape better.  I then stitched some gold and purple piping around the edge of the material, and also used this as a means to hang the piece.  I haven't had a chance to give it to him yet but I'm so excited to see him open it Cheesy Cheesy  As much as I love the pattern I don't think it is one I would rush to complete again lol!!  Oh, and it is stitched on 14 count white aida, using 2 strands of thread.  Anyway here are some pictures Smiley  As always C&C greatly appreciated Smiley

And some close ups of the Chakra's.

And a close up of the piping detail:

This is wonderful! I've been learning Reiki as well, so this piece is really interesting to me. It looks amazingly complicated- you did a fantastic job. I'm sure your friend will love it. (and if he doesn't send it this way because I do!)
