...and my first post!
So I don't usually do jewelry, however I was recently invited to a steampunk party (Excitement!) and was looking forward to participating in all the crafty goodness that goes along with it. Luckily my grandmother's job leaves her with lots of ridiculous things to make awesome steampunk-y jewelry, so I spent the weekend toying around with it. I'm pretty happy with the results.
(also, because this is my first time posting pictures, I have no idea what size they will be...
. Also, the quality of the photos isn't so hot, I know.)
This was the first pair of earrings I made for the person I'm going with. I like making them match more in theme than in actual design...
.Used gears, clock hands, wire, a giant feather (matches the ones on her hat), a little compass, and these tiny wire things that are *supposedly* used for making stripes on nails when you do a manicure (because I'm sure you needed to know that.).
These are my earrings. They're really long and heavy, but I kind of love them. The edges are sort of more purple-y than you can see here. More gears, clock hands, wires, chain, typewriter keys, wings, keys, and tiny crystals.
This is my ring! It came out just right (and only took a litre of superglue to make...!). Clock innards, an extra gear (you can't see it so well
, but it says "Venus" and has little stars on it), wings, ring base, tiny crystals.
Pocketwatch for my friend, openfaced. Old watch, tons of gears, tiny crystals, arrow, wings, typewriter key.
My pocketwatch. This one does have a cover on it, and the colors are actually really cool (Like black with hints of copper). Old watch, even more gears, old watch innards, arrows, tiny crystals.
That's it. Well, there's also a hat, but I don't have pictures of that yet. I appreciate any questions or comments or *constructive* criticism.
Thanks for lookin!
