wasnt sure whether to put this in here or the bags section, but i thought what the hay.

this is my new, crocheted handbag. I bought the yarns for making xmas gifts, made a scarf, made my sister in law a bag the same as this (without the cherry blossom) and still had 1/3 of the massive ball (it was an 800g ball of Arran wool blend) left!!

add t the leftover yarn 1 handbag for 50p from a charity shop, canibalised for the zippers, and a pair of handles from the market and 2x1.59 iron on embroidered decals of cherry blossom and i have a beautiful, functional handbag.

the internal pocket is lined with fabric so that my keys don't pull threads from my crochet lol!!

outer is worked in HDC. inner pocket is sc.

Very cute! I love the detail of the cherry blossom popping out from the black and white. Grin

It looks fantastic, and the black/white contrasts so well with the cherry blossom

Can I be cheeky and ask where you got the decals? I adore cherry blossoms ^^

I bought them from Hobbycraft, I'm in the UK and they're made by a uk company called pineapple but you might find some on ebay. hahaha, you're in the uk too lol!! but hobbycraft don't have them on their website Sad.

I love them too, I was only down that aisle to look at beading needles on the other side, the decals took my eye and i couldn't leave them!

found this which is the same kind of applique, but sold by an american company.

Thanks for that... will go stock up so I can put them on everything I own, since my crochet blossoms look like someone threw up angel delight...  Cheesy

I live in the heathen north, but we have a hobbycraft near us (well, 30 miles) so I'll take a look in.

Oh, what a beautiful bag!  Cool I love the black & white combo & especially the flowers patch.

I've already been on eBay & found them. I'm planning to decide on something to use them on myself. They are lovely. One of these days I plan to learn to embroider so I can make things like this myself, but it's wonderful to have them easily available. I have a dear friend who now lives far from me. She loves Betty Boop & I've found embroidered patches for her. Thanks for telling us how to get them.
