I don't know if this is the right forum, but I did a search for "molds" and couldn't find an answer.

I'd like to make Bath Bombs in a specific shape. I made that shape out of clay -- it's a dragon's egg Smiley Now I needed to make the mold around it.

I tried a plaster mold from Michael's, but after I pushed the egg in halfway...I couldn't get the egg back out! I even greased it up with oil beforehand, but that sucker stayed in there.

There's got to be an easier way to do this, right? Should I buy one of those cheapo "My First Handprint" things, and just do both sides manually?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Are you familiar with 'lost' wax casting? I think that is your best bet. Do some google search on it. Failing that, I would suggest the cope and drag method used in sand casting using either a plaster or ceramic for the mold.
