That's right: this year for Halloween I was determined to be Gadget Hackwrench, the fast talking fix-it girl mouse from
Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers!

not a bad resemblance:

If you don't remember this awesome early 90s cartoon, check out the intro:

This was a fun challenge for my beginning/intermediate sewing skills. I found an awesome 70s jumpsuit pattern and a purple bedsheet at a thrift store (total cost: around $5.50), but it had huge wide legs and no sleeves or collar:

wip (I'm wearing it inside out here)

So I added sleeves and a collar form a different pattern and took in the legs. This of course resulted in a mismatched pairing of sleeves and made it impossible to raise my arms over my head, but hey it's a costume, not something I need to wear every day:

As for the rest of the costume, the belt was scrap material with a lot of stretch, the wig was an ebay find ($10!), the goggles were from the after summer clearance aisle (yes I start scouring for materials early!), and the ears and tail were part of a monkey set I got at the last minute from a Halloween store:

Apparently all mouse ears are grey and cat ones are black, and I was determined to get this tan color. thought about making them but ran out of time. I also painted my nose pink with lipstick but that rubbed off immediately.

thanks for looking!
