Hey, there, Craftsters!

I just finished doing some serious recons for my Batman costume, which I plan to wear this Halloween.

I started with a child's Batman costume, which I bought two years ago for a performance at college. Since it was made for a little boy, it was the opposite of sexy on me.

A lot of hand-sewing and one Batman movie later (I'm absolutely terrible on the machine), I cut the costume up and sewed it into a pair of gauntlets and a halter top. Here's the end result!

Entire ensemble, with bonus cape!

This obviously isn't my entire costume. Everything else I'm going to wear is back at college, and I still need to pick up a Batman mask.

I might post pictures of the entire outfit closer to Halloween. Thanks for looking!

He's just a little brought down because when you knocked, he thought you were the candyman.

Here is my completed Batman costume! I'm really happy with how the whole thing turned out.

The utility belt was made by my mom. She made 4 small pouches that close with velcro, and have straps on teh back so they can slide on and off any belt easily. It was great, because I was able to hold my keys, ID, cell phone, camera, tampons and whatnot on me while most of my friends were only able to shove a few essential things in their bras.

I was also super excited about my boyfriend's Riddler costume. The question marks on his tie, hat, as well as one you can't see on his back and the mask are all cut out of a single purple t-shirt I found. I would have put on more, but, smart person that I am, I began sewing only an hour before he showed up at my place. :/

He attached the question mark to the top of his cane and spray painted it gold himself.

I think we were a pretty big hit. People passing us by going to various parties kept telling us they liked our costumes. Smiley
