Ok, I have plenty of ideas for the rest of my family but I'm struggling to think of something to make for my nephew. Last Christmas he was the only one I didn't make something for because I genuinely thought he'd turn his nose up at a handmade present, but he looked very disappointed so I'm making something for him this year! The question is...what?

He's very bright, likes playing computer games, watching TV, reading books - horror, fantasy, and plays rugby - basically fairly typical! We're very close and I want to give him something he'll love but I'm stuck! So, any ideas? I really need some help! Thanks!

Why don't you find out his favourite animal, then make it amigurumi style?

Can you make him something based off of one of his favourite TV shows or books.

You might want to check for swaps of similar themes and check the galleries for what other people have made.  It might help you think of something.

My bro is a little older than your nephew (17), but I'm making him a paracord survival bracelet. They're very handy for just about anyone who ever finds the need for a length of rope...or they just look pretty nifty. I'm not outdoorsy at all, and I'm making one for myself too, just 'cause I think they look pretty cool...

Or, maybe alter some other crafty idea you have for another person to make it a little more "manly"? I did macrame jewelery one year, so he got a bracelet with black beads (...he actually really liked it, and his friends have commissioned more from me). Otherwise, what about something he could use? I'm not sure about what kind of crafter you are, but what about a handmade scarf, or embellish a t-shirt?

I'm not really around 14 year olds anymore, so I have no idea what's cool, haha.

I think a freezer-paper stenciled shirt that corresponds to his interests would be well received. You could also flesh it out with some food (which all boys love) and a book or a paracord bracelet (I think I'm stealing that idea for the men on my list).
Or you could make him a comfy pillow or blanket to use while he's lounging about reading or gaming.
