Details of swap:

In this swap you will be writing in a journal for one month and sending the journal to your partner.

You are encouraged to make your own journal, but it is definitely not necessary, you can recreate a pre-existing journal if you so desire.

This journal should really express who you are, and not just in words, feel free to include photos, ticket stubs, crafty projects, drawings, poetry, short stories, jokes, whatever!

You MUST write something for each day, even if it's just a few sentences. Your entries don't have to be novel length, but they do need to be of substance. You can even include drawings and poetry (make it a mini zine about you if you want!).

You and your partner will discuss how personal you wish to be, if you didn't already specify in the questionnaire.

You are ALSO required to send a small crafted item along with the journal. Make it a craft you are super good at, to display your skills, or try your hand at a new craft, so long as you make sure you keep it a small (unless you and your partner discuss otherwise). A small is an item that takes you 2 hours or less to craft. Items such as earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks are considered smalls for different people of different skill levels.

I ask that all participants check in once to preferably twice each week in this thread. Keep in good contact with your partner and me as well!

I love that this questionnaire is so thoughtful, because some things I don't want you to tell me and some things I wouldn't want to tell you. One thing I have found that with age you learn you have something in common with anyone, age, sex, preference, religion. I'm thinking and wondering if I can make a 30 page journal. I have one at home, but it is an altered book.

I have a split personality, because you guys crack me up.  AND The best day I ever had was TODAY!

I'm gonna think about doing this swap.  I have told myself to wait and swap till the new year, to save money.  However, this one seems very doable.  Decisions, decisions.... Huh

Thanks for inspiring me!

OK this sounds really cool. I'm going to think about it.

So weird, yesterday I started a journal! I definitely am interested in doing this as it would force me into actually journaling, but I feel like I'd be so sad to part with it in the end  Undecided! I will definitely think about joining.

I REALLY want some funny hoop-framed embroidery! Wanna do a personal swap?

I don't know if anyone is making their own journal, but this website, http://www.craftleftovers.com/blog/archives/1858 tells you to use a candle to make your own binding thread if you don't have a place where you can buy waxed linen or some beeswax.

I've just had a resurgence in my journaling as well, after a lapse of...umm...too long to call it a lapse.  Roll Eyes I also have a couple of junque journals (from cheapy composition books) in progress that I could write in! So there is no reason for me not to sign up.  Grin Yippee!

There are a few sites out there with 30 days of journaling or art prompts, which might be helpful if you're looking for direction on the writing or the artwork.

Does your household accumulate lots of dryer lint and empty toilet paper rolls? If you'll turn them into fire-starters for me, (stuff lots of lint inside the roll, fold edges, maybe add some candle wax), I'll happily send you something nice.

I'm so in. I have tonnes of ideas. I was planning on starting a new art journal, so I'm glad to get going on this one.

I'll be travellling in New Zealand during this time, so my travel watercolours will be making the trip with me.

Just to confirm, send outs are 11 December, right? It's just that around the world we do our dates differently...

Do we journal for the month of November, then? That would work out perfectly for me.

Signed up, this is very doable for me Cheesy
I sometimes write a lot though, so I'll probably just purchase some type of notebook or journal thing and write in it and make the thing super decorative.
