My BFF's little sister was complaining the other day that she had a hard time finding affordable jewelry that would cover her wrist tattoo for her new job.  I remembered a long time ago (in high school, gasp!) I had made myself one of these safety pin bracelets, but with more of a random bead assortment.  As her new job is kinda classy, I thought I'd go for a more put-together look.

Being me, I immediately went for the leftover glass pearls first.

And knowing her, I went for a more streamlined look with seed beads (this one took for-ev-er)

The bracelets are super easy to make; it's just a matter of picking your pin size and having the patience to sort out all the beads whose holes are too small to fit on the pin.  From there, threading them on elastic thread, tying a knot and sealing it with a lighter was really all it took.  I think that thanks to the elastic they'll cling to her wrist enough that her tattoo won't accidentally escape.  Victory!

I have an Etsy store now, thanks to peer pressure: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MazikeenStudios
I'm also trying to make 7 things a week for a year.  http://mazikeenstudios.blogspot.com/  (Warning: this is usually pretty behind!)
