Hi there,
my mum is making my sisters debutante dress and she is just doing the final hem for the big night this Friday. We have a tulle petticoat to wear under the dress to puff it out a bit, but we also bought some horse hair braid to thread through the hem just to hold it out that bit more but we don't really know how to put it into the dress.
At the moment we have it threaded through the hem of the lining but that isn't making much of a difference so we were wondering if it should be threaded through the hem of the dress instead?
Also, when we thread it in, should the braid be fully stretched (ie. braid is thin) or should we be compressing it (so that braid is wide) ?
We've never used this before so any help would be appreciated.
Thank you and I'll post some pictures of the finished dress Smiley
