Thank you MoonlitSun!  I made that set for a Friend of Craftster Raffle.  The mushroom, snail and peas all contain magnets.  Crochetting around powerful magnets can get interesting, but they were all fun to play with. Grin

I'm too heavy handed to use anything but a steel hook on ami's. At least I never lost my place if I had to sit the project down.

Steel hooks are stronger than aluminum hooks and a bit shorter.  My creations are always on the tight side and I tend to bend the light weight hooks.  Also, the shorter length helps with leverage.  I prefer steel hooks, as they work best for me and come in the smallest sizes, but many who make amigurumi use aluminum without any problems that I know of.

It is a gnome.  He found a good home in one of the FOC Raffles.  I guess he could be a jolly man, but originally he was supposed to be a gnome.
