Sooo, no this isn't me...

It's the Louisa Harding "Dottie Wrap" from Knitting Little Luxuries.

Here's my version:

I went easy on the buttons & eliminated the blanket stitch on the edges & the patterned stockinette stitch. This was my first project, so I wanted something easy to remember.

after 2 failed hat projects & a few small washcloths, I really have confidence to try some new things! I'm going to make this again, in browns this time, using better yarn (this was 100% acrylic) and making it a little larger (those patterns are all for itty bitty people!!).

IGNORE THE FACE! and the hat's not mine...just had a super bad hair day.

I'm totally impressed that this was your first knitting project! I stuck with washcloths for a long, long time!  Nicely done! Smiley

Wow!
Great work and a great item to have.
I want one! It is getting colder here day by day - we've had three or four nights with "danger of frost" warnings.

Thanks again! I wore it for the first time all day yesterday...it worked great!

And I think on some level dropped stitches have to be a design element. right?  Wink  oh wait no, that's slipped stitches. lol. either way.
