I had forgotten that last year I made this sweet little Halloween basket for my little girl to trick-or-treat with.  I haven't made any rag baskets in a few months because I've been busy with my other crafts, BUT this adorable thing makes me want to start up again!

Here's the link to the written tutorial (no pictures in the tutorial yet):

Good luck!  Send me an email if you have any problems.  Oh!  And be sure to post your new basket here so we can see your creation.

How thick should the cording/rope be?

Those are cute!  I might do some for easter.

Hi!

You can use hardware store rope or use actual 'cording' from Joann's or Hobby Lobby.  I buy mine from Joann's (fabric section) and they have 4 different sizes.  I prefer the biggest only because the baskets work up faster.

Sorry that I don't have the exact measurements.

So Cute! Thank you for posting. This looks like a great project to make for holiday gifts.

Question- the hot glue holds up pretty well?

Thanks again for the inspiration!

Hi Teachart!

Yes, the hot glue works great.  I've had my home filled with my rag baskets for years and have yet had to fix one.

Good luck!
