It's finally here!  Fall!   I've been wanting to crochet my little girl a poncho for the longest time.  So last week was the week.  The best part is ... the total cost to make the poncho was $12.00.

Here's the url for the free pattern:  http://handmadebyannabelle.blogspot.com/2010/06/how-to-crochet-childs-poncho-8-quick.html

Good luck!

Awesome job! I am so all over this project for my 2 year old daughter. She loves having this random blue blanket tied around her neck, cape-style, so I'm pretty sure she's going to dig one of these in a big way. Either that, or I'll wear it as a skirt!  Cheesy

Cankle - Be sure to post a picture of the poncho you make when you're done so we can see it.

That's beautiful! I used that same yarn to make a plaid scarf, but I love your poncho just as much with the colors.

Okay, so I started making the poncho. My question is do you do the increases completely randomly or consecutively or right below where you make an increase in the previous round?

You can increase randomly - no specific pattern.  Just be sure you increase by the numbers given.

Good luck.

Love it! And love that it was so inexpensive to make! A big "WIN" in my book.
