Hey All

Its getting to that time again. Time so start thinking about what to craft people.
So this year, the fella I am kinda seeing and I are exchanging stockings.
But I have NO IDEA what to put in his.
What do you put in a 19-yr old's stocking?

Here are my ideas so far:
-"coal" cookies
- socks

Do y'all have any more ideas?

i have made little drawstring bags (for the musicians in my family, for guitar pics).  Also, I made some paper flower art (4x6 frames from the $ store with burlap on the front).  hand made jewelry is always nice Smiley  or a hat.  you could knit, crochet or sew one.

and fruit.  we always had a piece of fruit in our stockings growing up.  then you have something to much on when things are being opened Wink

Not handmade but I always stick one of those wooden or metal mind puzzles in the hubs stocking, chapstick(he asks) hand sanitizer(he works with people all day)...and candy of course!

I like to put in little fun and cheesy games/candies like what you would find at the dollar store such as mad libs or pez.

You mentioned drumsticks....my brother was in Indoor Drumline in highschool and for his last year the director's wife made all the seniors keychains out of drumsticks.  She cut them so they were "mini" and then drilled holes through the top and put a key ring through.  He still has them on his keys at age 25 Smiley  That may be something you could do.  Maybe paint or use a wood burner to put the year on them?

This years stockings will contain:
'Coal' cookies using an Oreo Truffle recipe, oranges and pomegranates, Lush bath bombs, handmade play-dough, mini jars of chutney (re-purposed babyfood jars), socks (bought unless my knitting skills improve considerably in the next three months!), crayons and chocolate coins.

I'm putting in my parents stockings (Yes, I give my parents stockings....) personalised cds with some of their favourite artists on them. I've got a heap of songs for my dad, but i'm struggling with my mum.

My daughter doesn't yet realize that toys come with happy meals. I take the toys and save them for her stocking.  Craft wise she will be getting a rubber ducky soap and heart soaps with butterfly erasers embedded in them (got a soap making kit in a swap and have made lots of use out of it), crayon disks from her old crayons, and some doll clothes.

herbal soaps all around for the adults, not sure what else yet.

If you make herbal soaps, how about a crocheted/knitted loofah to go with it?
