I made these lovely little shoes using a pattern from Sweet Pea Patterns (http://www.sweetpeapattern.etsy.com) and they came out so well that I have to post them immediately! Haven't tried them on my baby yet (she's asleep) but I have a good feeling about them...

the next day...

and a few more little shoes - with thanks to elowezil for the pattern and inspiration! The red fleece ones are my favourite, and they NEVER fall off. The denim shoes were a variation on the original pattern with the backs and fronts not joined except for a loop of elastic. I like the way they look but they were a bit of a fiddle to make, so I'll be returning to the original pattern next time.

Little shoes are strangely addictive to sew, I think I'll be making a lot more...

Awe! These are adorable! I need to make something like these for my little one too - since Autumn is *just around the corner* and her little tootsies are gonna get cold! I love that you didn't make them in a classic pink or purple. Orange is awesome!!

I've got tons of new stuff in my store!: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MyWyldChild?ref=ss_profile

Gorgeous!  Well done.  I'd be interested to know if you found this baby shoe pattern fits your baby better than the other one (that I posted pics of recently and you commented on and said you would try them - the ones with elastic around the heel).  Love your apple fabric too.

thanks for all your comments! and thanks to elowezil for getting me started on baby shoes... I've added a couple more photos of shoes from the original poopockets design. Having had a chance to try them out today, I'd say that the poopockets shoes stay on better so are probably more practical as day-to-day shoes (we lost a kimono shoe on the way to school this morning and had to go back to look for it) but the kimono shoes look  very comfortable as they are slightly shaped for left and right. I'll be making more of both versions...
