I don't think that there is a Christmas story that I dislike to be honest haha.

After reading some of the posts I think that I'd like to have my partner mark some of the items to wait until Christmas....it'll drive me nuts, but in a good way Smiley

Oh, how could I forget Elf!?! I just love it when Zooey Deschanel sings. She has such an awesome voice. (If you haven't heard them, check out her band, She & Him)

I love She & Him!

My Dad and I watched Grindhouse last year LOL so not a Christmas movie!

Never been too big of a fan of any Christmas-themed movies...

My Christmas ritual for a movie was watching "House of 1000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects" as my dad bought them for me about 6 years ago for Christmas. (Along with a Carebear doll and Hello Kitty hairclips. Cheesy )

Oh, and "Party Monster." It's always on IFC Christmas Eve/Christmas morning at like 4am.

My favorite Christmas movies are Love Actually and The Family Stone.

What are some of the non-traditional stockings you all are talking about?

There's a post in this thread somewhere (don't have time atm to hunt it down) that has a compilation photo of all of last year's (?) stockings.

Some of the nontraditional stockings were monster claws, the Tardis from Dr. Who, an NES controller, a HUGE mitten and all manner of shoes from work boots to Victorian high heeled lady's shoes. There's a crazy amount of creativity that goes into the creation of these stockings.

Believe it or not, this is the one thing about this swap that has me worried. I've never really made a stocking before. EEP!

So what kind of non-crafted items would you all like to receive?

I have no problem coming up with crafted goodies but purchased...uh...um...I tend to draw a blank.  Undecided

For me, I would love...
gum - I love Stride and 5 in mint. Cheesy
Chap stick - I'm addicted to Carmex but I'm willing to try other types, but not candy flavored ones. Bleh.
Holiday socks - the goofier the better!
stretchy gloves - never can find mine so the more the better!
little tubes of body wash or shower gel
scissors - for paper, I go through these like crazy between having school age kids and being a teacher
Ooo! teacher stuff like ink pens (any color) and cool paper clips (no "apple" stuff though...I have way too much of that.)
Altoids! - another major addiction (both to the candy and the tin...Cheesy )
Candy canes - fruit flavored ones!

For my partner, please avoid chocolate and sweets. My husband usually puts my stocking together at the last minute and those are his Go To stuffer items. I still have a container of Ferro Rocher upstairs that I haven't opened. Yes, you read that correctly. He gives me a truckload so I have to ration myself or I'll gain 20 lbs overnight. lol

UPDATE

GAH! How could I forget craft items???  Let's see, embroidery thread, wooden embroidery hoops, seed beads, fabric markers, crochet thread (the fine stuff, not yarn), buttons, hmm...I'll think on this over lunch and add more later. Cheesy

Pencils/Pens
Lotions/Soaps
Magazines
Craft Supplies...I would be super excited to see thread and zippers! OR fabric!!
Hot chocolate
Gloves
Socks (though I'm not partial to the crazy ones Wink )
cooking utensils
Spices
Anything related to reading/journaling/yoga etc...
Candy is always good!!
Candles
I second the fact that scissors are always needed!!

Is it okay to ask that our stockings NOT contain Christmas decorations since I plan on trying to wait until Christmas to open mine??

CHOCOLATE! Any kind of chocolate! I have a major sweet tooth - nothing is too rich or too sweet. Grin
Socks are always good - I'm all about novelty ones & bright colors.
Small notebooks/sketchbooks/journals are always appreciated.
I adore pens!
Paint brushes, especially the really tiny sizes.
Fabric, buttons, zippers - any type of sewing notions! Fabric scraps are much appreciated as I've been doing lots of applique.
Candles
Good smelling soap
