It's a fez. I wear a fez now. Fezes are cool.

I'm on a doctor who crafting kick. I've never made clothes before so this is a first.

I decided to make a doctor who inspired collection. I have some original designs coming but this particular one was mainly based off Tara Reich, who I heard about on a geek website I follow.
Here's her drawing:

And here's a pic of the 11th doctor:

I had no idea what I was doing, I never have the attention span for patterns, instructions, etc.  Tongue I went to salvation army and got an oversized mens button down, an old lady's blazer that was far to big and a pair of pants two sizes too big (this outfit isn't for me, my dress form is of a friend. I'm a big girl and wanted to start with smaller items).
I'm so proud of how it came out. Its not the best certainly but I love it (and I hardly like anything I make). I wanted to wait till I had pics of my friend in the outfit but I'm too excited.

Don't mind the green underneath, its the covering of my dress form.

puffed sleeve detail:

UPDATE!
And I finally got some pics of the outfit on my friend. She's posing with a screwdriver...if you watch doctor who you get it.
(I know, she's trying to open a WOODEN door with a sonic screwdriver...she doesn't watch the show)

The back:

Comments always appreciated!

The idea and the outfit are awesome.  I'd love to see if you decided to do any other re-creations of any other incarnation of the Doctor.

-and from someone who has the same problem with patience and patterns, you did a great job of winging it!

Thanks all I appreciate it! It was a pain to make but I loved it. I've never been so excited to make something before!

Thanks! I have a design for the 10th doctor and for a clockwork robot outfit. I'm working on a Sontaron inspired outfit as well and I'm toying with the idea of a few others. That is when I ever I find the time to get to them - my friend was lovely enough to volunteer to model the clothes (when she's free) and for me to fit her to them after work, so I have to make some items for her that she'll actually wear too.  Tongue
