Hm. I think of pumpkin pie more as a Thanksgiving thing (which here in Canada is next weekend, so not close to Christmas!). But I really, really do love pumpkin pie. As for treats I have around Christmas, I really like having a turkey dinner, pffeffernusse (these German white-covered gingerbread drops), hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream, and any tea that "tastes like Christmas". There is also always a Clementine in my stocking, and they feel like Christmas to me!

My progress on this swap is so far... lists. But I have a lot of lists. I also sent my partner a big question PM yesterday, since I'll be digging in this week as some other swaps are heading out in the mail!

German gingerbread drops?  Mmmmm would you be able to share the recipe?

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

I live in Seattle. Warm beverages are important here in the winter...eggnog lattes, peppermint mochas, market spice tea, hot buttered rums! They all make me think of the holiday season.

I've finished 3 mediums. I went back and corrected part of one of them and I'm glad I did. It looks much better.

I also went shopping for fabric for one of my larges yesterday. I'm kind of going back and forth on it though. It might be too Halloween-ey for Christmas Smiley.

pumpkin pie is definitely a fave for both TG & Christmas!!!!  I keep asking for one for my birthday in August too, lol, but no one has obliged yet.  Wink  I also love the pumpkin lattes, pumpkin muffins and peppermint mochas (though those are available year round and I indulge when I need a pretend winter moment in the hot summers here in FL).

I'm half way through 1 large... spent about 5-6 hours on it yesterday Smiley

I love my grandma's spritz cookies and ALL my aunt's baking.  She makes s'mores bars, cherry chocolate drops, frosted sugar cookies and much more YUMM!  I also make cherry chocolate cookies to share at work since everyone loves them!

I have gotten going on my large but I plan to work on it in bits and pieces since it will take a while and I will burn out on it if that's the only thing I do.

ginger/gingerbread ANYTHING is my fave.  And pumpkin too.  With an eggnog latte (so thankful for soy eggnog!) to go with.

We don't have gingerbread poptarts here!  Probably just as well  Cheesy

I ordered my supplies today!  And am about to start crafting on the things I have supplies for.

My favorite thing would have to be when my family makes cookies - we traditionally make butter cookies and decorate with red/green sprinkles, peanut butter kisses, and some sort of fancy cookie I some how manage to find 2 years ago it was red velvet half moons with chocolate and vanilla icing.  And all of these are made from scratch and traditionally all done in one evening staying up wayyy too late.

Still in the process, after this week I can get cracking, I have an event after work for three days so there goes my crafting time.

Well here's a link to one that looks right. My grandma has one, but it's in her head. Wink http://www.canadianliving.com/food/pfeffernusse.php

My favorite holiday treat is potato candy. Which is this extremely sweet candy made with a potato, lots of powdered sugar, & has peanut butter in the middle. I don't know anyone else who makes it, but I've been making it with my sister since I was a child. It's so good, but takes all afternoon to make so we only make it at Christmas.

I went to the craft store today & started on my first medium. Grin School has been more hectic than I expected so I haven't had a lot of time to chat, but I'm finally used to my schedule & have no assignments due for a month, so I'll have plenty of crafting time.

PS: LimeRiot - I like Halloweenish prints, even at Christmas. Wink
