Hello fellow Craftsters!

I've been working on a few little coin purses, cases, clutches and other small bag-related items over the past year, and I thought now it was about time I showed off some of them. Also, I very much wanted to thank all those Craftsters whose tutorials I've used and not had the chance to thank yet. Please, feel free to skip all the story-telling and look at the pretty pictures!

Firstly, I used happyfrog's AMAZING coin purse tutorial https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=190408.0 to make a coin purse for myself, and as a gift for a friend's birthday. These both turned out beautifully, unfortunately I have photos of neither, and I don't have mine anymore - for reasons which will be revealed soon!

Shortly after completing these two projects, my external hard drive died, losing all of my music and photos in the process. Don't you hate that? Of course, my "sympathetic" friends and family all told me that I should have had a copy of everything somewhere other than the hard drive. Good idea in theory, however my laptop was so ancient that it couldn't possibly handle my music collection, let alone music AND photos. So, I bought a nice, new, PORTABLE hard drive, and thought 'This could use a nice soft case'.

After some inspiration from the various monster projects I have seen around Craftster, I bought some neon fake fur, and tweaked happyfrog's tutorial a little to come up with this:

Fuzzy loveable monster face [which is a slightly more intense orange in real life]

Which opens up to fierce felt teeth and tongue!

and fuzzy two-pocket innards, showing off a meal of shiny silver hard drive.

My partner named him the Nomster [no that's not a typo] so of course my hard drive is now  (F:) N.O.M.S. - aka Not Only a Monster Snack.

Now back to my lovely little coin purse: I moved states for uni at the beginning of this year, and last time I went home for a visit, my darling little sister "borrowed" it. Naturally, I returned home without it. So, in the vain hopes of having mine returned, and also in honour of her getting her P-plates and her own car, I whipped up this clutch:

Outer fabric was a fat quarter. I am a compulsive shopper when I get near fat quarters. The keys are meant for jewellery, I think.

The lining is another fat quarter, and I used scraps of the first to create contrasting, diagonal credit card pockets. Also, this is the first time I have ever used a magnetic closure, thanks to janetsjunk https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=60281.0

The card slots in action. Also, the piece they are sewn to is attached to the lining on only three sides, creating a pocket behind them for notes. Naturally, being a poor uni student, I had none to show in the action shot.

Iphone for size reference

and finally ['Yay, its over!' I hear you say - well, it almost is] a close up of the keys, and zipper with matching charm. One more thanks to sewpixie https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11808.0 for teaching me how to insert a zipper.

As a side note, I did make the doona cover that is in the background, however it wasn't quite good enough to be worth its own post.

If anyone made it this far, thanks for looking!
