Ooh, I love it! It looks like you have a lot of natural light in the room, too.  We have been trying to really clear out a lot of our stuff, too, but I think that we are too messy to really pull off a true midcentury look.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!
Mid-Century Modern is my thing.  I just bought my first house with my fiance and I'm having a hard time convincing him of letting me decorate it this way, so I'm resorting to touches of this style (think: starburst clock, retro barstools, boomerang formica, etc).

I love the lamp coming out into the middle of the room---where did you get it?
I also love the bent leg table---looks very professional!

If you like making your own housewares, you should definitely check out the book "Handmade Modern"--

The lamp is from Ikea!  Ideally, I'd love to have the Arco floor lamp from Design Within Reach, but I don't have $2,600 to spend on a light (and even if I did I can think of a million and one other things that money would be better spent on).  I love looking at Design Within Reach and then trying to think of ways to make or thrift a similar item.  I really like the bow-style floor lamp though and Ikea's version is nice.

I've looked through that Todd Oldham book before!  I can't remember why I didn't buy it at the time - thanks for reminding me about it!

I wish I was as good of a room designer as you. I usually have the basic couch and tv stand with tv. I am no decorator at all. I am having a hard time right now trying to think of how to store all my crafting supplies in the office without it looking like it's taking over. (I don't think my boyfriend would appreciate it much.) I really like the book shelf though.
