maeve is going to live with my sister in scotland.
its a surprise so i'm not putting the pix up on my blog for a couple of weeks.

i made basic canes with silver in the centre  and blue or green metallic clay on the outside.  the tail part is made of silver fimo/sculpey then i sliced the canes and used them as scales.  when it was baked i added a little silver paint to the tail, tips of fin and hair.  and a little as eyeshadow/make up Smiley  then varnish.

as always the wires and beads were a real pain.... but i managed to get them stuck on without squashing too much out of shape....tho there were some emergency corrections....
she's 8 inches long.

She is gorgeous, Nouga.  I love the view from the top.  She looks so lifelike in her expression... like she is thinking about her fisherman lover or something.  Those scales are awesome Nouga, your hard work paid off big time... truly those eyes are lovely.  I want to make one as well but I'm afraid I might get that pygmalion syndrome.

thank you clayman Smiley
those scales were soooo tedious to apply so i'm glad the effect is nice!  but honestly me and wires and beads don't mix.... Angry  which is a hassle cos i soooo like them!
the face gave me a lot of trouble... and the thing with (my) faces is that they all look like ugly men without hair....so i'll be hoping that they at least look feminine...  i outlined the eyes like kohl eye liner with a cd pen on the raw clay...by next day it had sort of spread slightly and i liked the softer look so phew!!!
oh and the arms and hands...they get so soft and shapeless....

'pygmalion....'  i learn something new every day.... Wink
wasn't that the name of the book that lead to the musical 'my fair lady'?

sorry for chatting out of context... Undecided
