Sometimes I'll sit in a coffee shop or the park and crochet a washcloth or two.  Nearly always someone stops by and says "my grandma used to crochet washcloths."

These washcloths aren't your grandma's -- that's right.  Make them with yarn full of color and texture.  They are not only for using in the kitchen or bathroom, but are made to brighten up your home.

Here's the url for the free pattern: http://handmadebyannabelle.blogspot.com/2010/04/crochet-pattern-not-your-grandmas.html

I hope you enjoy making them as much as I do!

I love that you make something so simple your own! I have a bunch of colorful handtowels for exactly the same reason. Functional does not mean boring!

These are so awesome.  They would make gifts for any occasion. Are they made of cotton/acrylic yarn?

Yes, 100% cotton works best.  I also use the Lion Brand Organic Cotton - it's works great.
