there was yet another birthday in the tribe so i had a go at the now infamous rainbow cake (minus most of the icing at the request of the birthday boy).
  here it is ......

it went down a storm after the initial "WTF how'd you do that!?!?!"

look out, it's behind you AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

This is very cool. So.. what's the secret??? I have a birthday coming up and I bet the girly in question would love this cake. Smiley

theres a few versions on craftster using boxed cake mixes but i just used the "infallible sponge recipe" with colours added :6oz sugar, 6oz butter, 6oz sr flour , 1 tsp baking powder and  3 eggs. beat the heck out off it, separate into as as many bowls as you have colours mix in the colour paste ( liquid , gel, whatever) blob into the cake tin in alternating layers and bake at  about 180 degrees c till done . bingo  Grin ! the icing  was just cream cheese with powder sugar mixed in . nom nom nom

look out, it's behind you AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!
