A few weeks ago I was informed I had dismally low iron so I've been searching for dietary solutions. Cream a wheat happily comes in at 30%! Add a few sour (yum) raspberries and blueberries and finish it with some homemade sweet granola, and you have yourself a breakfast!

This is my second batch of granola and thankfully it didn't burn this time. The reciple can be found here: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/220814/maple-pecan-granola/ I slightly adapted it by adding honey and sunflower seeds as well. I'd also recommend not skipping on the ground flax--it's a very sweet granola but the flax helps neutralize that a bit.

As an aside... I'm not sure how I could possible eat the amount of food that would constitute 'daily recommendations' with regards to iron.

It is quite tasty Smiley However I discovered last week that adding milk to the cream of wheat inhibits the absorption of iron due to the calcium. Bah.
