I ended up with a bit of free time this morning so I just jumped into making snowflakes. I've never really worked with bedspread weight thread nor with clusters, shells and double treble so I learned a lot. lol

My granma crocheted 2 dozen snowflakes for each of her grandchildren which was no small feat given the number of cousins that I have. It is my goal to add a few new flakes every year so that when my kids are grown, I can split my collection into a neat treat for them.

I hope granma is smiling down on me with my first attempt. Goodness knows, she got a giggle or two. Wink

The bottom piece is supposed to be a dove. My 4 yr old took one look and said "What a cute duck!"...lol

Looks cute! What weight thread are you working with? I'm a wuss...I really like 5 (or is it 3....) 10 or smaller makes me nuts.

I'm not sure Mare. The cover with the weight on it is long gone. Undecided

Love love! Especially the dove! Did you just freestyle the dove? Are you going to make enough to do your whole tree in them?

Oh no...no freestyle crochet from me! Not yet anyway. Wink

I have a pattern book that I found in a thrift store a couple of years ago that had all three of these patterns.

Our tree is sort of a happy mish mash of ornaments. Thankfully, I don't have to cover an entire tree because we tend to get huge trees. lol
