If you're one of those people who has a huge list of items to make, a big bag of planned patterns, or a bad tendency to "forget" to make things for yourself when you're immersed in swaps. . .  this swap is for you! The difference in this swap is that you arent just making something for your swap partner, youre also making the same thing for yourself.
Swap name: One for Me, One for You the 3rd
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: Yarn or Fabric
Sign-up date range: July 31 - Aug 15
Date to send item by: Sept 30, 2010  Oct 16

Limited to a certain number of people? No
Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No
Age requirement: 16 (as all swaps)

Swap Organizer meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES
- Is at least 18 years old: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old: YES
- If within the US, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap: YES/NO
- If outside the US, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: YES/NO

It works like this
You make TWO lists. #1: Things youve been wanting (needing, dying) to make. #2: Things youd like to receive. You post both of these lists together in this thread. As more people post lists, and more options circulate, you may find yourself wanting to add to your lists! Go for it, its part of the fun. (How-to? Go to your post, hit Modify in the top right corner, and edit away).  In the end I will do my best to match up people who want to make something with people who want to receive it. You can choose to have one or two partners.

The items on the lists should basically be LARGE items, 4-6 hours in working time. However, if you want to post slightly smaller items (in working time, not physical size) or sets of items, you can post them too, and Ill still do my best to match you and your partner(s).

You will craft pretty much the same thing for yourself & for your recipient - so say you are making a bag, you would make one for yourself in your fabric styles and one for your recipient in their fabric styles.  You MUST make one for yourself.  I know it is "only cheating yourself" if you don't however that is the point of this swap - you really have to make one for yourself too.  So if you have to, make yours first, get the kinks out, then make the next one for your recipient.

These are large items.  Not massive items.  Do not take on more than you can accomplish.  It will be between you & your recipient about what you decide to make for each other - so keep in contact with each other!!

Please note:  You may not get EXACTLY what you have in your wish lists.  Your partner I'm sure will make something that you will like in your style. You should be able to make something off of your to do list for your partner - with her tastes in mind.  This swap is challenging but fun.

You do need access to a camera to participate in this swap --> remember, we want to see a picture of  what you made for yourself, too!

** Do not post anything BUT your lists in this thread until partners have been assigned. If you want to chat about the swap, go here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=332563.0 to the New Swap Ideas thread.
**AFTER partners are posted, and since we have a long crafting time please drop by at least weekly to say something in this thread , or at least PM your organizer (me, Yarn or Fabric!) to let us know youre alive and crafting.

Name of Swap: One for Me, One for You the 3rd
Craftster user name:
Email address:
Your real name and Mailing address including the country:
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?
Confirm you are at least 16 years old:
Do you want one or two partners(SORRY: First-time swappers, one only)?
Do you have access to a camera and are you committed to posting pictures?
Do you solemnly swear to stay active in this swap and have fun with it?

Is there something that you would NOT like to receive?
Are you allergic or have aversions to anything?
Do you smoke or have any common allergens in your house?
Anything else you might like to tell your partner?
Remember - you are to keep in contact with your partner & post in the discussion thread at least once a week.

Hi - My  name is Deb.
I am a compulsive crafter living in Alabama Smiley
Pretty much everything on my list is quilted or sewn.  I just have a lot that I want to make for myself and I just rarely indulge in making things for me....
I'm allergic to wool and to kitties.

Here is what I have on my to do list...
Quilted items...
set of 4 Christmas placemats - stars? trees? snowmen?
set of 4 purple butterfly placemats
set of 4 turkey placemats http://www.whitesewing.com/PDFs/11_placemat.pdf
Log cabin pine trees wall hanging http://www.freepatterns.com/list.html?cat_id=436
make frog quilted wall hanging for bathroom
make sunflower quilt wall hanging
a quilted patchwork basket or two http://ayumills.blogspot.com/2008/05/tutorial-fabric-basket.html
Halloween cauldron/bats wallhanging from this pattern.  Without that silly W on the cauldron. http://www.checkerdist.com/products/PTPC10

Sewn items.....
knitter's/crocheter's tote bag with skein pockets
clutch bag for going out to dinner.
a fabric box... https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=printpage;topic=154750.0;images
A crochet hook case similar to this one http://www.etsy.com/listing/22317037/crochet-hook-case-art-supply-case-with
Freezer paper shirts - set of two, one for each boy.
This sewing organizer bag  http://sew-whats-new.com/profiles/blogs/make-a-handy-sewing-caddy
This journal cover https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=269402.0

Things I would like to receive
This is the hard part for me to list!  I'll be adding tons more as others post their to do lists!
Anything stained glass - except a butterfly. I have one already Smiley
fused glass pendants
a knitted hat kinda like this in cotton or acrylic http://www.berroco.com/287.291/287/287_rickie_pv.html
Things for the kitchen.  My potholders are pitiful  I keep saying I'm going to quilt up some but I never seem to get around to it.
knitted yoga socks - cotton or acrylic
A dog bed - made to fit a 15 pound poodle.  Okay, he's fat and overweight and will hopefully be a 10 pound poodle by this time next year... http://sewing.about.com/library/weekly/aa010606.htm
I love and can always use project bags for my crocheting - see above for a link to one.

Soon as I get feedback from my first swap I'm going to sign up for this - I think it's such a great idea!!  Questionnaire done and all ready to send in.  Like Tygermane, gotta start thinking of what I could make now - makes it really interesting thinking of something I'd like to make for myself that someone else might want - I'm thinking along the bag line at the moment, found some ace tutes
