In the woods, just 15 minutes away with my bike, I discovered an old layer of sand full of silex-stones. I felt very childish (but so what) I collected a LOT :-) The smallest stones I used to make these earrings. I had so much that it didn't take long to make nice pairs.

We all make mistakes, and then when you've made enough, they call it experience.

This is a great idea. Your earrings turned out very cool.  I'm a preschool teacher and our playground is surfaced with pea gravel.  We always have to make all the kids empty out their pockets when we go inside because they fill them up with rocks and they end up all over the classroom.  One day I told a little girl to empty her pockets and she started to cry because she loved her pretty rocks.  She showed them to me and told me why she loved each one.  Ever since then, my pockets have been filled with "pretty" rocks and they just sit in jars around my house. Way to display your "pretty" rocks. Sammi would be proud.
*by the way* I let that little girl keep her rocks. I did not have the heart to make her throw out her treasure. Now, when she finds a good one, she gives it to me because she caught me putting them in my pockets too!
