This was the Gothic care bear that i had sent my parnter for the 80's cartoon swap rnd 2.  I wasn't sure how to do his tummy emblem, so I just bought a cross and glued a red swarovski crystal to the middle of it.  I was very happy with the way he turned out to.  I bought the booklet especially for this swap.  he was loads of fun to make! Smiley

and the back so you can see his little butt heart

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.

I LOVE this! What book did you use?

I am very sorry to anyone wishing to look at the pictures that I have previously posted. Photobucket deleted my account without warning.  :/

Thanks for all the comments Cheesy  The pattern is from an out of print crochet care bear book.  It gives you patterns for like 6 different bears.  I got mine off ebay.  I just did a search for crochet care bear pattern.  It's an annie's attic book.  There are 2 versions, this was the bigger bear version, there is a smaller one as well.

Funny story. A few years ago I bought the carebear crochet booklet too. It was my whole reason to learn to crochet. It ended up getting sat aside and the I really did learn to crochet, but I have still never made a carebear (my sole muse to learn to crochet) so now I think Ill go make one lol

He looks soo good!!! You did great job! your stitchs look so even too!

I think I've also got the exact same Care Bears crochet pattern, sitting untouched (with thoughts of making my sister one if I ever run out of ideas for a girl who likes pink and fluffy little dogs.)  If only I'd thought to make Care Bears that fit my friends' personalities/feelings...
