So, my friend is getting married next Thursday and my little sister needed something to wear.  On account of her having no money and not being able to get nice clothes to fit her shape I said I'd make her something.

I DO NOT make clothes ever but she studied textiles at college and she made the pattern and cut it out and I stitched it all together...that was our deal.  We did a practice one this morning with her pattern and then she made the changes she needed for the real thing which I did this afternoon.

It's based of the Vivien of Holloway swing dresses...http://www.vivienofholloway.com/1950s-Halterneck-Polkadot/1950s-Halterneck-Red-White-Polka-Dot-Sateen-Dress.html (which I will be wearing a floral one to this wedding).

Here's a bunch of photo's we went out the park and took this evening before she had to get the train home.

As this was my first attempt at dress making any comments or tips would be great...it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!  And I think Sharry really likes it too!!   Grin

Really like it and I'm soooooo glad you have no money for new clothes because I think this is way nicer than whats available (or not ) in the shops.

I myself am a larger lady and the clothes available SUCK! Cry

Well done and more so for having done this AND the practice dress in ONE day! Amazing and she looks great. Shocked

Wow!  That's very professional-looking!  I would never guess it was your first attempt at a dress!  I hope you make lots more!
