No spinning to speak of this week - it's been unbearably hot, and sitting with a big pile of wool in your lap doesn't do much to help matters.

I did, however, finish knitting two items this week using handspun yarn!

The first is a hat. It's the hurricane hat from string in motion (pattern here: http://stringinmotion.blogspot.com/2008/04/hurricane-hat-copyright-sunshineknits.html)
Excuse the shiny face, as I mentioned, it's currently a billion and one degrees in my house. Also excuse the fact that my hat is crooked and not a whole lot of it is in the picture - I wasn't willing to wear the hat long enough (DID I MENTION IT'S A BILLION DEGREES?!) to take a better photo.

The second is a cover for my headphones. Cute as a button, and I don't have to deal with my headphone cord being tangled up on itself anymore!

Everyone's yarn looks lovely as usual Smiley

I havent posted in awhile because Ive been rather ill, but I decided to show a sampling of what I have been working on the past month or so.

the first is a midnight blue merino with multi colored tussah silk and purple sparkle spun in. Its my effort at an art yarn, I call it Midnight Magic.

The second is an 80/20 merino silk blend in greens white and yellow that I am calling The Huntsman.

And last is a blend of purples and silvery greys that I call Moon Goddess. It is a 2 ply Merino/Silk/Angelina blend.

Fiber... saturday? Smiley It's been forever since I've posted anything. I had a fight with my wheel and stopped for a long while. Silly really. It's not my wheels fault I can't spin on the fastest whorl. lol (Anyone else have that problem with Babe wheels?)

ANYWAY. Handspun from forever ago, knitting it up finally.

And on my brand new drop spindle, some undyed, unknown origin wool.

I'm loving the yarns this week!! Especially your green on Zombie_queen!

I know I am a little late but I wanted to show ya'll my bamboo spun up!! It's only an ounce of fibre but it's so soft and thin and pretty!! Whatcha think:

I'm not quite sure of the length yet, but it's really thin so I am guessing quite a bit
94 yds/ 86 m! I still have some pretty pink/blue bamboo to spin once I get this off the spindle!!

SewMamaLady: The white yarn is a combination of unidentified wool roving and cotswold locks.  It's got a lovely halo.

CatieLove: That yarn is GORGEOUS knitted up like that!

a word about slingmomma: I introduced her to spinning and now she's better than I am!

Catielove and Shootenanny: love your knits! I still haven't made anything with any of my handspun, though I have sent quite a bit of it on swaps/giveaways.
