I'd like to say a great big THANK YOU to HeartofMary for a great tutorial!  I love this: http://pinoyinoz.blogspot.com/2008/07/tutorial-city-backpack.html
It wasn't actually very hard.  It took longer to cut everything out and get it all interfaced than it did to put it together.  It's a great small backpack for kiddos or quick trips.  This one is made from medium-weight denim, cotton, and "craft fuse" interfacing on both layers.

Back and straps. I had to use d-rings instead of real slide thingies for the straps because that's all I had at the time.

Cute backpack.  Thanks for posting the link for the tutorial.  I think my mom would love one of these.
