Very cute! What do you use? Wool felt? I don't know much about felt. Do you buy it from the bolt or do you use those squares that you get like 4 for $1? I would love to make one for myself, or maybe we can do a trade? PM me if interested.

Thanks 6craftycats!  I will be sure to PM you about a trade, but just in case anyone else is interested....

I used both regular felt and easy felt.  The Zebra and white on the inside are the 8X10 (or so) sheets of regular felt you can pick up at just about any craft store.  The red part is easy felt, which I buy in the bigger sheets of 11x14 (or so).

Since you don't know much about felt....

Easy felt is just stiffer and in my opinion a little more durable than regular felt.  The reason it is called easy felt and made the way it is, is because it is much easier to cut as far as shapes and such, than regular felt is.  They are generally made from the same stuff, recycled water bottles if you can believe it!  I have not worked with wool felt yet but want to try some one day for felting work.

The two types I use do have a different finish each, so it just kinda depends on what you are making as far as what you might wanna use.  I suggest picking up some of each, since it dirt cheap, and just see which you like best.  You will probably find that you like both, like me Grin.

Thanks, I love them too!  I ADORE felt and hearts. I had made one for myself that was a red heart with I love you stitched in black on the front.  I LOVED it!...but my neice was over and was drooling over my craft stuff so I sent her home with some goodies to start doing some on her own.  Since I love her even more than I loved that needle book I let her have it, loaded up with needles to get her started.  I really wish I had pics of it, it was FABULOUS I tell ya!

PS...I also have leopard print felt, which would look awesome with the red heart on the front.  I can do the trim in whatever color you like, and I'm gonna try and get some hot pink felt, as I think it would also go well with the colors I used on this one.  I'm think a hot pink skull and cross bones would also be uber sweet!  Or a cupcake, or an ice cream cone..lol.

I'm starting to think I need to get serious about making needle books!  You guys are giving me a big fat crafty head! Cheesy

Very cute! I love needle books.
