My daughter and I are heading off on a road trip across europe north eastern italy is on our route, everyone knows that Italy has some of the best food in the world, so we want to make sure we experience a lot of it. I read in a book that a woman used this technique, she would go up to a local looking person and show them a piece of paper, asking them for the place in town that they should eat, she said it resulted in some amazing meals. So can someone translate the following sentence into italian for me??

"We are visitors and want to find somewhere local and good to eat, can you direct me to your favourite place to eat in this town, and maybe draw me a map if its difficult to find"

and if anyone knows of any good craft shops or flea markets in the areas around treviso, venice, trieste..please let me know, we will be coming across the alps from austria and trying to stay off the motorways, travelling through small towns and villages, is there anywhere that is pretty, but not necessarily in all of the guide books, that you think we should not miss?

I love personal swaps, for supplies, surprises, flamingo themed things and general silliness

I would love to get my hands on charlie harper fabric.
