Not counting the cover, I am officially over halfway done! Seven 2-page spreads finished, plus the title page, and writing on all of the other pages. As soon as the last spread dries, I'll be moving on! Well, maybe I'll eat dinner first Wink

I realized something, as a rough estimate, I'm thinking my entire story will be between 40 and 60 pages Smiley I like that. Then with another 5 - 10 pages of character art and sketches, that will be lovely. To top it off the stolen guestbook idea, my sketchbook will be ready for business.

I have a small request for suggestions. I plan to leave the designed words "Once upon a time" on the cover, but I'm going to hot glue something to the cover to decorate around the words.... Anyone have any cool ideas for what might look nice?

I did a fun thing with hot glue a while ago...gold leafing.  Put the hot glue down and let it set up so it's touchable hot and holds it's shape.  Apply the gold leafing, rubbing it down with a brush.

As I'm typing that, I realize that using pigment powders would also be a neat effect.  Or maybe even shiny eye makeup?

I've got to add test to 3 more pages plus finishing the cover to go. Hopefully I'll get there.   Roll Eyes

Except for the cover, I am done! It isn't as beautiful as the ones that have already been posted, but I'm pretty happy with most of it. I made a couple of mistakes that I wouldn't have made if I wasn't rushing it (or been distracted).

As soon as the last page dries, I'm going to slap a strip of fabric over the binding on the outside of the cover, throw a title on the cover and call it finished.

If I am up to it, I'll take a picture of 1 more spread that I'm particularly happy with and share it before I go to bed.

I'm planning to hit Staples tomorrow morning to make a copy of it, and get a mailing envelope. Then, I'll drop it in the mail on my way home tomorrow night (I'm hoping I can access the APC... if not, I'll have to get up early on Tuesday).

I should sleep like a baby tonight! Too bad I have to get up early tomorrow to tutor for 2 hours...

Nicoleburdsall: Your clouds are beautiful! I love your use of rainbows and color!

MadMel I love your concept - how original!

DaniQuee Your drawing skills are fantastic! I especially love the giant squid (He looks a little lonely, and wants to be friends with that girl on the ship - how terrifying!)

Everything looks great. I'm pretty sure I'll be working on my book up until Tuesday morning. I have a little bit of a... plan... for seeing the tour in Seattle.

Here are some of my most recent pages:

The triangles are actually Mirror paper - it didn't scan well.

ANNNND - I tackled the cover! I'm really happy with it.

I also had a semi crazy thought for seeing the tour in Seattle... this is completely hush hush...

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 years, and have been talking a lot about "forever" and "the future" and "our life together"... I've been toying with the idea of proposing via my sketchbook!

I have ONE page left in my book (the theme is "Boys & girls") and doing a non-traditional proposal would be fitting. I was thinking of making a cute page that says "Will you marry me? Circle yes or no" and having a pen available when we look through it together.

I wish I had thought of this a while ago, and not A DAY before the book is due to be postmarked. Is this completely crazy?

prettyinpaisley, what an awesome and totally sweet idea! What a great way to end off your book!

And, you should bring a pen so you can sign it when he says yes!!

Okay, I have to go to bed, but I wanted to post this one picture...

Can you see the little squirrel on the front steps of the Air and Space Museum?

Yes... I'm a geek... and proud of it...

I wish I'd been with my man long enough to do something amazing like that! My goodness, that is seriously a brilliant idea!!! Also, prettyinpaisley, if you do for certain do that, pleaaaaasse tell what day you'll be doing it on the Seattle portion o:

It's 10:08pm, I'm still cooking... I think dinner will be ready in about 15-20min. After I eat dinner, I'll be sketchbook-ing until about 2, maybe 5am. *sips Mtn dew*
