Hi everyone!

I have always had an interest in beading, but have never tried it. I lost my job last month and decided that I should try beading now as a way to keep my mind active (and not on all the rejection letters I've received from my job applications!). I went to AC Moore and picked up some beading stuff during the sale last week.

I'm curious... What books do you find to be the best for a beginner? Any web sites? I did buy The Beader's Bible and I have been googling beading, but would love to hear what books/sites experienced beaders use.

Thanks so much!! Smiley

Depends what kind of beading you want to do.  I like to do a lot of bead weaving myself, so I focus on things that deal with seed beads more.

Thank you! Smiley I want to crochet with beads, as well as learn how to brick stitch, square stitch, peyote stitch, etc. I have been looking at all the pictures in The Beader's Bible and drooling. Those are the pictures I drool over most Smiley

I always check out a bunch of books from the library first!  If I like one of those books enough, I buy it, but sometimes it's just nice to find a place to start without having to spend anything.

I recommend Interweave's Beadwork magazine. I have also found a lot of great instructions at about.com.
