I just saw an ad in the Observer today for a place that has sewing lessons in Uptown...which is Dallas, but not too far from FW.
I think they have other crafts too....I believe the name is MAKE THE CREATIVE BOUTIQUE or maybe just one of those, but if you check out the observer I believe it's in the one that came out today, 5/12/05.

I was just so excited to see a place that was offering lessons and crafty projects! Anyone tried it?

Interesting but uptown is way to far to drive to from FW. It would take about an hour without a lot of traffic to get from FW to uptown. I wish it was closer  Sad

Yes, it's true, not so close  Cry  Possibly make a girls weekend out of it.
I went into their shop today....so cute by the way, and signed up for 2 classes, one to make a handbag and the other is for jewelry making.  Can't wait to get started! I will post up more after I have taken the classes.

Anyone else here going to take any or have already signed up?

Hi, thanks for the info.   Wink  Question, how much do the classes cost?  Or do they have a web site?

Yes, I will find out their website tonight and let you know.
The class I signed up for was only $45.00, they have whole room and outfit and more difficult classes for about $65.00 - $125.00 as well as jewelry design + handbag class for like $90.00 as a Girls Night Out.
It depends on what you want to make and which designer is teaching the course.

They are having an open house friday with the McKinney Block Party, Free classes, I am going to that for sure.

McKinney Ave?  I'm getting my hair cut TRIO today!  Maybe after my appointment I can swing by.  Darn!  I should have made my appointment for tomorrow instead, I didn't know about that block party!  What is that all about anyway?

Ok so their website is www.TheMakeSite.com
They are on Thomas Avenue in a small cottage house.
I went to the open house, so fun! Made a small hip bag and cell phone holder.
Very young crowd, lots of neat ideas.  These girls did the entire store themselves, and its so cool!
Check it out for sure!!

How is Trio, I have heard great things....can you recommend someone?
