Our Cooking Challenge is ready to go!

Our theme is Celebrating July 4th!

Dates for submissions: July 5th - 10th

Requirements for entry:

  • any preparation or type of dish is acceptable - grilled, baked, side dish, dessert, doesn't matter! We love them all!
  • a picture of your entry
  • the recipe used (no links to blogs please!)
  • you may only enter once

We are looking for the best representation of the July 4th celebration. Use color, decoration, favorite (or new) recipes, and HAVE FUN!

All entries are to be posted in this thread.

On July 10th at 9 pm EST, I will start a poll for best July 4th entry.

Now for the fun part!

What does the winner get?

I have 2 cookbooks that the winner may choose from
, 101 Things to do with a Slowcooker or 101 Things to do with a Dutch Oven. Both are spiral bound so that they are easy to use in the kitchen. The winning entry will also be a Featured Project on the Cooking board!

If you have any questions about this Challenge, feel free to ask here. I will leave this discussion up until I open the poll so that we can all share in the preparations.

That is awesome!  I love how it's patriotic on the outside, but the secret is the awesome flag on the inside when you cut it.

Mmmmm, potato salad! That is one of the things we usually have every year...and for some reason we did not have it at our gathering. I have always wanted to try making one of those..."Red , White and Blue Potato Salads" with the "red" bacon, "white" potatoes and "blue" blue cheese. I love Ina Garten, will have to give this one a try!
