I like Encanto, but the domain is taken, along with enkanto (play on K for karen) so you would have to look at what's available for future expansion, perhaps you need to add a word . Using "wool" or "toys" really puts you in a box, no matter how passionate you might feel about your current craft line right now. Maybe add your initials, like KC Encanto or something like that.

thanks for the advice! Hmmm, maybe Encanto Designs...or Encantado Designs

I like to keep it short and easy to remember.  Something catchy and something that just sticks in your head and rolls of your tongue.

Encanto is good for that!

hi everybody! first of all, I'm new to this forum soo if there's something that I'm missing, do let me know!

moving on to the question, I have decided to make an online craft business (yay!) but the thing is, its very hard for me to name my business. I will be selling quite random things; felt plushies, hair accessories, bracelets, even paper arts. oh and I love soft pink (if that helps)  Undecided.

I'm not very good when it comes to naming things since I tend to get very indecisive... so please help me!! your help will be a BIG big help. thank you so much!!!!!  Cheesy

When we came up with our name we knew we wouldn't be making the same things forever. So to have a business name pointing to a specific product was not practical.

So we just took the name of our community, (Shady Pines) and called ourselves "Shady Pine Studios".

No matter what we make, the name is appropriate.

There's NOTHING at a craft show, or on Etsy, anybody NEEDS. NOTHING.

I carry around a crafting journal that I will doodle or write down ideas in. I knew I wanted my business to be named about the stars or nighttime. I wrote those words at the top of the page and just brainstormed all the words that reminded me of those. For example: Constellations, Supernova, Stardust, Asteroids, Nocturnal, Slumber, Nightlight, Firefly, Milky Way, Nebula, etc. I chose my favorites then asked my friends and family what they thought. The one with the highest votes was Nightlight, so my business became "Nightlight Creations." As for the indecisiveness, I narrowed it down to three names. I worked the list down to three by thinking "If I was shopping anywhere, would I go to a shop named _______."
Hope this helps some! And good luck!

First, whenever you get an idea do an etsy/google search to see if anyone else has it, or something extremely similar. You want to stand out. As for naming it, that's a harder part. If it helps any I'll tell you how I made my names. 'Tamed Raven' was a joke between my father and I that stuck (said I looked like a tamed raven when I dyed my hair black). It was original, and kind of funky which suited me, so I used it.
I recently split my store into two, and found the name 'Eltu' because it's a word that means 'I make it' in another language. I'm a big language nerd and since I make things.. It seemed perfect.

Try to look at things you like, things that are easy to understand if you tell someone on the fly, or easy to spell. Dont be afraid to combine outside interests for inspiration. Hope it helps!

OK, so you've got a couple words, random and pink. Random Pink, R.Pink, Pinkdom, Pinkcidental, Oddpink, Slapdash Pink, (just keep going until something sticks). Just make sure you check online with your final choices so you don't have someone else's name to be confused with. Lots of "pink" names out there, but there's a few alternatives to pink like blush, soft, cloud, etc.

Get yer online thesaurus out and start mixing things up. Eventually one name will stick.

Well I have been thru this process twice. My first business name was "Polka Dotz and Whatnotz" (yes with the z) lol. I was always fascinated with polka dots and I was simply doing a bucket for a friend and I was happening doing vinyl polka dots.. Well one thing lead to another and "Polka Dotz and Whatnotz" came about.

Maybe your business name is sitting right in front of you and don't even know it Wink

Now my second business name is "Polka Dotz Diva". My husband came up with this one. We were kinda flat and sometimes re-branding your business can be a really great thing. Anyways, my husband does web designing on the side.. mostly hobby.. and came to me with the marketing strategy.. I was a little skeptical bc I did not want people to think "Polka Dotz Diva" "man isn't she conceded". But I have had so much positive feedback and the name just sticks! At least I was told by a couple of my customers Wink

So maybe you can get the old man/hubby to come up with something. Who knows, he may surprise Smiley

Hope this may help someone.

Thanks Smiley
