I'm not sure if you consider this a quilt or not.  My swap partner wanted a wall hanging and she loves pandas, so this was the result.  This is the first time I have ever attempted something like this.  It was so much fun!  I love all the texture I was able to incorporate in it.  I did a machine satin stitch around the larger pieces and sewed on the smaller by hand.  I found the black material in the remnant bin at Hobby Lobby, I love it.  It was actually my mom's advice to use the faux fur.  I have had the fur for a long time, I got it at an auction.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

I love this piece so much! Did you base this off of a photo you'd seen, or did you just work from your own imagination?

I was totally stalking the swap gallery when I saw this and thought that it was one of the cutest things I have ever seen before!
And I can't believe that it is your first- I am very jealous of your skills!

Thank you everyone!  Pixieval, I looked at, probably, hundreds of images.  It is based, mainly, off of an image on a card I saw for sale on Etsy.

This is beautiful! It reminds me of the patterns sold at a local quilt shop that has endangered species.
