I'm in! Granny squares were on my list of things to try because I love the vintage awesomeness of them Cheesy I'm gonna start with a small throw blanket, but eventually I want to make a granny square vest. The sheer amount of yarn fashions in the hippie era just astounds me!

I've already made 5 squares using the second link because I wanted that classic granny square with multiple colours. It wasn't til I tried that pattern that I realized it was the one I wanted Tongue It was actually really easy to learn! And I really wanted a break from sewing Tongue

Ohhh can I join?  I am preggers and due July 28th, I have started blankets for my little tweaker but I get bored and the ADD kicks in and then I frog Sad  I think I am going to do a continuous Bobby Square (I don't think the pattern is available any more but I will post pics of it as I go).

I think I'll try this one. I have a baby on the way, and a ton of yarn that was gifted to me by a fellow crafter.
I've never committed to anything before, and I could granny in my sleep, so I'm trying to think of a good reason not to try.

Okay, so what I'm going to do isn't quite a granny square, but a beautiful square-sided motif.
here's the link.

Ok, so I totally got over-excited by this granny square thing. I made... a whole bunch Tongue I've come up with a plan! I need two more squares to complete a 5 by 5 motif for the centre of a blanket. Ok, so that means 23 squares. All out of random yarn I had and some adopted from my boyfriend's mum's stash. So ya, my plan for June is to go buy a couple balls from Walmart of black acrylic and variegated blue acrylic and continue the granny square shell-motif around the central composed-of-granny-squares-motif in the middle. If that makes sense...

So ya, I'm totally in love with granny squares!!!

Hi guys!  I'm new to Craftster, and I'm totally in for June!  Sounds like a great way to make my way through my ENORMOUS yarn stash.  I think I'm probably going to make squares from those short little scraps that I can't bring myself to throw away.  The result should be interesting...I'll be sure to post pics!

Can't wait to get started!
